Adventure, Dive & Sustainable Travel Specialist

My specializations are in adventure, dive and sustainable travel. I hang my hat in San Diego, CA where I also teach paddleboarding to dogs and humans alike. I studied Environmental Science and Marine Biology at the University of Tampa, which is where my passion for sustainability began. I am a former PADI Divemaster and have traveled to many countries, exploring both above and under water. Some of my other interests include hiking, backpacking, camping, underwater photography, yoga, skiing, golfing and cuddling with my two dogs. During my travels, I am constantly on the hunt for local good eats and an adult beverage. I tend to hate the things most people love—sorry Taylor Swift, Disney, chocolate and coffee! My mantra? “Fill your life with adventures, not things!”

Wonderful to work with. Communicated very well and was not pushy like other travel agents I spoke with. She was willing to work with us and come up with multiple different travel packages. Was willing to help adjust the experience we wanted and very happy we chose Portofino resort instead of Ramons. Much less crowded and more romantic. Met several people staying at Ramons who were not happy. Everyone loved Portofino

Amazing solo SCUBA trip!

Working with Jamie was super easy and just a pleasure. She understood what I was looking for right away and planned the perfect trip for me. I'm a solo traveler and wanted a SCUBA vacation and did she ever deliver! The hotel she booked was everything I needed from comfortable rooms to on-site restaurant and the dive shop was right on the property. Everything was well planned out and I was provided clear direction so I knew exactly what to expect and I appreciated her availability for my random questions. Excellent Support Through a Canceled Trip

I don't know how to express my gratitude and absolute amazement at how helpful Jamie was at every step of my trip to Belize. She was so helpful and knowledgeable about connecting me to accommodations and activities that were exactly what I love to do while on vacation. Unfortunately, there was a hurricane that came through Belize a day before my trip and my connecting flight to Belize got canceled so I never did get to actually travel there. BUT Jamie was responsive and accommodating through all the delays and ultimate cancelation and helped me through the process of not only finding alternative accommodations in my connecting city of Atlanta, but walked me through the travel insurance process. She is not at all pushy and provided me much needed support through a very stressful time. I will definitely be using her services again for future trips especially since she did such a great job helping me through this. She is a professional and knows what to do!

Best trip ever!!

I would highly recommend Jamie at TropEco Travel for anyone who gives a damn about the impacts we have on the travel industry and the destinations we visit. My husband and I were thrilled to have Jamie rguide us. From our first discovery call, Jamie was energetic, friendly and professional. She asked us all the right questions to get a feel for what kind of travelers we are, what activities we typically like to do and importantly, our budget. We went on an amazing trip to La Fortuna, Costa Rica. Stayed in a gorgeous hotel where we had a swim up bar, delicious food and even saw sloths! The massages in the middle of the jungle and the hot springs were next level amazing! We did an awesome volcano hike one day and an immersive farm tour and coffee roasting class the next! We only had a few short days in La Fortuna, but Jamie helped us maximize it, while still making time to relax and enjoy. I already can't wait to go back!

A dream come true

We just came back from an AMAZING trip to Belize! I have severe travel anxiety. I start researching a trip, panic and then cancel the entire thought. Jamie made a 6 year dream come true by booking everything for us! She was very thorough and made sure that the options she had for us were 1. In our budget and 2. What we really wanted for our week in paradise. Jamie also had a wealth of knowledge about our destination, customs, tipping, what to pack and how to travel and was very accommodating with last minute changes and additions to our itinerary.
