Great Barrier Reef

Whether you’re looking for adventure, wildlife encounters, great food and wine, or pristine beaches to relax on … there’s nothing like a trip down under. Australia has endless beaches and attractions to visit. You will likely find that you need to make a trip back after your first visit.

Wildlife … where to begin. The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary was a highlight from my trip. At Lone Pine you can hold one Koalas and hand feed kangaroos. You don’t just get to see the animals, but meet them up close. After leaving you will have a better understanding of these animal natural habitats and the importance of protecting wildlife.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to ride in a helicopter then Australia is the place to do it. I thoroughly enjoyed the views of the Great Barrier Reef from above. What better way to experience the world’s largest coral reef? You may if catch a glance of the marine life, but you will certainly be in awe of the beauty.

You can’t say you visited the Outback without a stop where Crocodile Dundee was filmed. And why not make a stop at Katherine’s Gorge and feed the crocodile? Did you know that crocodiles could jump their length out of the water? Neither did I until my visit to the gorge.

There are plenty of opportunities to hang with aboriginals to experience Australia authentically. I had the opportunity to go fishing, receive hand painted items from the tribe, and play with baby wallabies in their sanctuary. This was an experience that I will not soon forget.
