Are you someone who loves a little adventure followed by a night in a comfortable bed? Me too. Soft adventure travel is for people who love nature and cultural experiences, but would rather sleep in a comfortable bed instead of a tent.
I’ve been a PADI-certified scuba diver since 1995. I love to go scuba diving or snorkeling whenever possible. I’ve planned several scuba trips for clients.
I love helping clients experience new adventures. The itineraries I’ve planned for clients have included whitewater rafting, kayaking, rappelling, hiking, ziplining, ATVing, surfing, paragliding, mountain biking, stand-up-paddleboarding, caving, and more.

Working with Terri to plan our family's summer vacation was an awesome experience and I would highly recommend her to plan your ideal vacation. I wanted to make sure we saw all the best sites and fit everything into our schedule in our multi-city, state, and country vacation, and Terri planned it perfectly. Terri asked all the right questions to find out what we wanted to do and learn our family's comfort level in regards to how much we wanted to travel in one day, how busy we wanted to stay, and what accommodations work best for our family's needs and price range. Terri's knowledge of the different locations was invaluable to make sure we efficiently spent our time and money. We had a great vacation, perfectly planned trip spending one or two nights each in Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Erie and Niagara Falls, Canada. The multiple options Terri gave us for hotels, and suggestions for places to eat, took a lot of guess work out of the planning and was appreciated.

My husband and I have had two great experiences in the last year booking travel with Terri! She took the time to understand our travel goals, motivations, and preferences, and from that, she has made great recommendations for locations, hotels, and experiences. She’s also given us great long-term advice about how to meet many of our (lofty) family travel goals. Her communications are timely, clear, and creative (she even provided video summaries of the options she was proposing, so we don’t have to read all the details!). I would very highly recommend Terri and Big Rock Travel for anyone who wants to travel/loves to travel, but does not have the time/energy/focus to handle the research and details of making it happen! We told her our wish list and she really made it happen for us!

Wonderful Trip to Europe

My wife and I could not be more pleased with the great job Terri did on our recent European trip. With great care and attention to detail, she helped us plan our 3 week trip to Germany, Spain, France, Montenegro, Malta, Greece and Italy. She listened carefully to our ideas and concerns and offered a variety of good options for hotels, transfers, excursions and travel insurance. In the process, she saved us money. As luck would have it, our plans changed shortly before our trip, so Terri had to scramble to change our flights. She again researched all the options and help us pick the best one. Professional, knowledgeable and caring, Terri could not have done a better job. We highly recommend her.

Dream Honeymoon

Terri was wonderful in planning our dream vacation. We had originally thought to tailor a pre-made tour through a company. When they said they no longer made changes to their basic packages, Terri helped us build the vacation we really wanted with another company. She had personalized suggestions for places to visit from her own experiences, which were beautiful. The app she put together had EVERYTHING we needed and more. It made our very busy days easy to navigate. She also provided ideas for things for us to do when we had down time in our schedules.

European vacation with teens!

Big Rock Travel & Terri was great in helping us plan our 2-week European vacation with teens! Originally it was planned for the summer of 2020 (Covid) and we finally got to go summer 2023! Terri helped us work with all the vendors to recover and rebook all our travel expenses. We have drastically different personalities in our family: from go-go-go to 4 hours/day of activity is too much and everything in between! We were able to accommodate everyone! Our hotels were perfectly located in each of the five cities we visited. One of my favorite parts of the service that Big Rock Travel provides is the App and daily itinerary. The App gave us our schedule but also allowed us to see the top sites in the areas you were visiting and to read about them in advance. Both parents and teens loved having access to this tool. Our trip was wonderful and everyone enjoyed their time!

Best Anniversary Trip Ever

I worked with Terri several months before she planned our trip to Alaska. I must say she did an amazing job from our first conversation to executing our itinerary. She was very responsive and always replied to my emails in a timely manner. Terri had me download the trip plans app and boy was that a lifesaver. It had the entire itinerary listed along with recommended restaurants for each day that we were in Alaska. She made sure all of the hotels we stayed at were modern and up to date. I must say this was a very special trip for us as we were celebrating our anniversary. We took the train from Anchorage to Denali and Terri had us placed in the first car and our seats were very close to the front.There were a few updates Terri received about our trip while we there. She communicated via text, email and the app ensuring we received the update. I will most definitely use Big Rock Travel in the future and I have already started referring clients to her!

Fantastic Italian Adventure

My husband and I took our 3 kids (ages 4, 7, 9) to Italy and had a fantastic time! Working with Terri took the worry out of planning. Everything was organized in the app, and she considered all details. Terri was very responsive during the planning of the trip, and also during the trip. We would definitely use Terri again!! Awesome trip to Portugal and Spain!

We just returned from a 2-week trip to Spain and Portugal created by Terri Weeks of Big Rock Travel and couldn't have been more pleased! This was a complicated trip involving 7 cities, 3 generations, 5 households, multiple travel dates, and last minute changes. Terri was a pro in coordinating all of the planning -- hotels, transportation, all of the tour guides and drivers -- and working with us to tweak the itinerary until we were completely satisfied. (She was even able to find a guide for a vague request we had to visit the escape route used by Allied pilots during WWII). Once overseas, we were in constant communication with the local travel agency that Terri worked with on our trip. The TripPlans app that Terri provided had our full itinerary, travel and hotel info, and even our trip insurance documents. It eliminated the binder of paper that I'm used to carrying on trips! We highly recommend Terri and Big Rock Travel!

One Last Trip to Hawaii

Terri was so easy to work with and was so patient with all of our changes and requests. This trip was originally planned for spring break 2021 but had to be cancelled due to medical reasons. Once we decided to try again our condo we wanted was gone for the summer, but Terri was able to get us the condo the week before school started which was so awesome! We stayed exactly where we wanted to be. We could walk to everything we wanted and was able to park our rental in the garage of the condo which was also awesome. It was an awesome trip for our family and amazing to go back to our honeymoon spot one more time.

This was our first time booking an all-inclusive trip in Mexico for us and our two daughters (9 & 7). Terri provided information on all the possible options and worked to get us as much as we could for our dollar. We chose Occidental at Xcaret and it was incredible! We all had such a good time. Terri was excellent to work with for both family trips she planned for us. The most recent being a trip to Liverpool and London, England. We had a lot we wanted to see in the time we were there which involved different interests for 2 adults and 3 teens. She created a customized trip for our family making great suggestions to maximize our time. Terri really listens and works with you to create a trip that focuses on your interests. The app she puts together for the trip is wonderful! Each member of the family can always see what is on the itinerary and it has a lot of other great useful information about each location. Terri takes all the stress out of planning and is with you before, during and after the trip to answer questions and provide support. Bourbon Trail Anniversary Trip

?From the beginning, Terri listened to what we wanted, took the time to get to know us, and set about scheduling as many adventures as she could in four days with a modest budget. She was challenged with my husband being a bourbon lover & me being a non-drinker, but she was able to customize a mix of experiences with our interest in history woven throughout. We were relieved to have her navigate all the tastings & tours & timing of each activity, & absolutely loved the app which captured all the logistics succinctly in an easy-to-reference format. It was a pleasure working with Terri. She helped us narrow our focus to be sure we saw what as most important to us on this trip. We made changes along the way and she was most accommodating in figuring out what we really needed. Terri is amazing! My family engaged her for our trip to Hawaii last year which unfortunately had to be rescheduled due to Covid related issues. When the trip got rescheduled I was no longer able to attend. Terri got me an amazing credit on my flight. She then worked with me over the course of a few months to book THREE different trips using that flight credit. Terri did this all at no extra charge because she is so committed and kind to her clients. Booking the new trips was so easy and she was quick to respond to all of my emails. In this situation many people could have said “you’re out of luck” but Terri went above and beyond to help me!

We loved the whitewater rafting experience on the Snake River. Our daughter was hesitant at first, but when it was over, she asked to do it again. It ended up being her favorite activity. It was hard to leave Jackson Hole, but enjoyed Yellowstone for it’s own uniqueness. The landscape was fascinating, and Terri’s suggested route was perfect.Big Rock Travel was great! Terri was so helpful with great advice and was very responsive to my questions. As a working mom, I especially appreciated that she made all our bookings for us so I didn't have to spend time researching and doing the bookings myself. I completed trusted her knowledge base and it all worked out great. Her itinerary app was amazing too - so helpful!
