Juneau Alaska - 2015 NCL Pearl

Humpback Whales 'Bubble Net' feeding in Alaska.

On our Alaska cruise we took an Excursion called Whale Tales and Ales.  It was one of the most remarkably days on vacation I remember. As we were on the water, these huge flocks of birds would pummel the top of  the water, only to be followed up be nearly a dozen humpback whales breaking the surface. This 'Bubble Net" feeding, where the whales blow bubbles from deep water, forcing the feeder fish together is seen often, but even the guides exclaimed they had never seen so many whales grouped together before.   Afterwards, we were able to stop at the Alaska Brewing Company for a tour and free ale..   What a day...
