I'm a travel enthusiast and owner of Globetrotter Travel in Grand Ledge, Michigan. I’ve always loved exploring new destinations, but was bit by the travel bug after a whirlwind trip through Europe and I’ve been passionate about travel ever since. My last year of college was spent living, working for tourism companies, and traveling through New Zealand and Australia and the experience was life-changing. When I returned home from Down Under, I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management and began working as a travel agent. I truly love using my experiences and expertise to help others plan their trips, so Globetrotter Travel was born.
I spent the better part of a year traveling throughout New Zealand and Australia, and have returned to New Zealand two more times, so I’ve learned a ton about traveling in these two great countries. I’ve also participated in the New Zealand and Australia Specialist programs and I truly enjoy planning trips Down Under. The islands of French Polynesia including Bora Bora, Moorea, and Tahiti, are also a favorite of mine to plan. In addition to these destinations, I’m also very familiar with cruise travel and enjoy planning family vacations and honeymoons.
Recently, in 2019, I traveled to Africa for the 1st time, to Kenya with the Magical Kenya Tourism Board. I loved Africa so much, I returned two more times in 2019 to South Africa and Kenya, and in 2020 made it to Uganda and Zimbabwe. Planning African safari trips has quickly become a passion of mine and I love planning these once in a lifetime experiences for my clients.

I asked Kim to help me book my honeymoon for my husband and I and I can't say enough positive things about the experience. Kim was beyond patient and helpful as I took time to review her suggestions and quotes, and answer the questions she needed to help me with our trip. She gave me tips along the way and helpful suggestions that made planning the trip and our arrival/departure just incredibly easy, which was a nice change of pace after a whirlwind wedding weekend. Kim was very helpful in the planning process and the booking process for our honeymoon. She gave us a great deal of options in the beginning and helped us narrow our search appropriately based on our budget and desires for our trip. Kim was very helpful in making sure we knew the travel info and made great recommendations for the airline we were flying with, to make sure we knew the extra not-obvious stuff to prepare and plan for. We will definitely contact Kim in the future for travel needs and options.

Working with Kim and Globetrotter Travel really saved us time and money on our 7-day cruise to the Caribbean on Carnival. She got us a great deal and handled the booking and other details efficiently; she kept us on track as we neared our date of departure to ensure a smooth boarding. Plus, we found a wonderful travel gift from her while onboard. As knowledgeable as I may be about travel, I felt more comfortable relying on a professional. Kim is so incredibly helpful and so fast to respond! She helped us plan our dream honeymoon to Punta Cana and we loved her so much we used her to book a cruise with our friends for May as well!! We will use her for any future travels we do as well! Great service, she takes payments, so accommodating, all around, if I could give her 10 stars I would!

Kim was very easy to work with and she got us an excellent price. She answered all of my questions quickly and sent tour choices for us to look over before our trip. We had a very enjoyable time while on vacation and Kim answered all of my extra questions quickly while we were there. I would highly recommend using Kim and Globetrotter Travel.

Kim is the best! When my (then) fiance and I couldn't decide where to go for our honeymoon, Kim gave us options ranging from England, Ireland, Mexico, Dominican Republic and more! This greatly helped us choose where we wanted to go, and what we wanted to do. Not only did Kim get us an amazing all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic (Riu Republica), but she also set us up with 3 excursions Dr. Fish Ocean Spa, Ziplining Adventure, and Sailing Adventure.
10/10 would recommend Kim and Globetrotter Travel to anyone looking to book their next trip- hassle free! We can't wait to book our next trip with Kim!

Kim will answer ALL your questions about your travel or find the answer; give you the options for your budget and timeline; and make arrangements quickly and cover all the bases. It was something that made my travel experience so much easier. I'm very glad I didn't even attempt to do it by myself. Travel and lodging and car were all flawless and that's exactly what you want. In these days when it seems like there are so many screw-ups in services you get from cable TV to plumbing to your restaurant order or even your utility bill, this was one thing that went perfect and that was a big relief.

I planned our honeymoon with kim, we were complete Amateurs and had no idea what to do! I had never even been on an airplane. ?? kim made everything so smooth and simple. We had the time of our lives! She was super knowledgeable about many resorts and areas. Will definitely recommend her!

Kim is AMAZING and made everything in our trip easy. She took care of our bookings and found the best prices, while also giving great advice along the way. Without her, we would not have bought travel insurance and as it turned out, we needed the insurance, as one of our flights was delayed causing us to miss our connecting flight. Even with the issue, Melody and I had no worries because Kim was taking care of everything on her side so we could relax. I don't know what I would have done had I not used Kim and Globetrotter Travel. Honestly, I'd probably be on the phone with Delta right now trying to get compensation for activities I missed.Thank you Kim for being amazing and helping make our honeymoon a great success! You are joy to work with and I will definitely be using Globetrotter Travel again very soon!!

Incredible honeymoon

Kim Barber did a phenomenal job with planning our honeymoon and even helping us out when we ran into an unexpected issue in Mexico. I gave Kim a pretty broad list of guidelines for what we were looking for, and her choice of the Hideaway at Royalton Riviera nailed it. When we got there, and our bed frame broke twice in the first day, she was incredibly responsive to email and we ended up in an upgraded room. I cannot recommend Kim enough and I would never book a big trip like this without her again.

Ireland - The trip of a lifetime

Kim Barber expertly handled my travel planning for the trip of a lifetime to Ireland, including contacting me frequently to ensure we were on track. I traveled on my own for three weeks on a family history hunt.
Kim arranged my air travel, lodging, car rental and travel insurance. What a relieve it was to know I was working with such an experienced travel agent. Her counsel was spot-on in every area, including the ability to get me very good rates.
I had not used a travel agent before, but when Kim was recommended to me by a family member I went with it. Am I ever glad I did!
I recommend Kim Barber to everyone who is considering any type of travel.

Family Christmas Trip

When my Mom wanted to do a family vacation for my family and herself, we weren't sure where to begin. I contacted Kim explaining we wanted to go somewhere warm at Christmas and fit the needs from an 82 year old to a 15 year old. After a couple suggestions, we decided on Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Kim was able to get us a straight flight, which made traveling easier for my mom. She was helpful with booking a dolphin swim ahead of time for my daughters to do on Christmas Day as a surprise Christmas present. She was extremely helpful with booking the trip, insurance information and even when my mom had a slight injury on the trip and I emailed Kim, she responded promptly. I would highly recommend Kim to my friends and would have her book another family adventure for us, when the time arises!

My husband and I have booked trips with Kim the past two years and are very impressed with the service and ease of planning Kim provides. Last year we traveled to the Bahamas and Orlando. Kim was able to find the best rates for tours, activities, and hotels based on our budget. Kim helped us this year with our trip to Europe. Kim's knowledge of the areas we were visiting was very useful as we planned our trip. She made the experience of planning very enjoyable.
