I worked for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for 18 years prior to assuming the role of a Travel Planner. Fifteen of those years were in leadership and executive roles, where I acquired experiences in providing the highest level of customer service to most discerning clients. I pride myself to be very detail oriented and resourceful to perform a job well done. My work experiences provided me with the insight knowledge of the hospitality operations, which resulted in a unique perspective in finding my ways to make your trip extraordinary and memorable.
My experience in the luxury hotel industry was also heavily involved in the planning and execution of many groups. This is a great advantage in my current role as a Travel Planner, especially when negotiating group rates and benefits for my clients.
I lived the first 23 years of my life on Bali Island, Indonesia, where I obtained a bachelor degree in Tourism Management that focuses on management of a travel agency, airline and world destinations.
Bali certainly's beautiful, but I always wanted to see the rest of the world. Therefore, I relocated to Washington DC in 2000 and caught the travel bugs. Now, my family and I have visited 20 countries via several cruises, packaged tours, all inclusive, and on our own. We stayed in various types of accommodations ranging from luxury to limited services. My favorite destinations are: Bali & Yogyakarta (both in Indonesia), Italy, Paris, The Caribbean, Singapore and Krabi, Thailand.
As you see, I've acquired a unique set of skills and knowledge from my lengthy career in the luxury hotel industry, and I've collected experiences from all the places I've lived and visited.

Dream Vacation!

Our vacation was planned for April 2020. Well, you know what happened! Dyah was able to rebook all our reservations without losing any money! She haunted the airlines for 9 months so we could get a refund. She kept us updated on all the changes and really fought for us. Then, she rebooked everything for May 2022. It was our Dream Vacation! She provided all the info we needed to navigate traveling with Covid restrictions. One week before our departure, the airline canceled our flight to Barcelona! She jumped into action and looked at alternatives, made changes and moved all the other reservations (hotel, transportation, etc). We felt reassured that any hiccups with flights or transfers she would be right there to do it. Instead of spending frustrating time waiting on hold or in long lines in the customer service counters, we would be enjoying a cocktail while Dyah worked her magic! We book all our vacations with Dyah.

Dyah is the best! She found the perfect itinerary, at the right price, and the best accommodations for my family of 5, my mom and my in-laws. We'd heard that it's best to book early, like a year or more out, but Dyah made it happen on short notice. We had the most amazing experience with everyone and every activity and meal we encountered. My mother’s birthday celebration was epic and my in-laws both said it was the best trip of their lives. My wife and our three children loved the ship, the shows, the port excursions, and the crew. Even though it was the first time we vacationed the week before Christmas, I’m sure it won’t be the last. I just started browsing for the same week this year and will leave it to Dyah to book our next adventure.

Flawless Carrebean cruise for mom

Dyah helped organizing a Carribean cruise for my mother and her sister. I wanted this trip to be as thought through as possible, with all the details taken care of, as my mom and her sister did not speak any English. Dyah provided exceptional help from advising us on the ship and type of room to making sure they have everything they need during travel such as credit for additional services, excursions etc. My mom was very happy, they had awsome time! I have been using Dyah from Sunia Travel for a couple years now. All of my vacations which covers 5 or 6 cruises have been book through Dyah. She is always attentive to what I am looking for out of a cruise to make sure she finds the best options. She always provides me with options, both for dates when I am flexible, also for ships, types of cabins. She always knows which companies are offering differing itineraries, deals and always makes sure I know all of the information i need to make the best decision. I never have any question that she is always out looking for me, and all of her clients have the best vacation and travel experience for for my/their needs. She also always follows up with me to see how my trip was, which makes me feel like she really cares about how all of her clients enjoy their trips. Working with Dyah to plan two trips was a wonderful stress-free experience. Dyah came to me with several options, and they were all great. The only problem was which trips to choose. What we like most about Dyah is how efficient and professional she is. If she says she's going to do something within 24 hours, she does it. She's also honest and is quick to tell you how you can get the best deal. When one of our cruises was cancelled, she handled both the rebooking and the refund process without any prompting. She takes the stress out of vacation planning.

In this age of the Internet, I'm used to booking my own travel arrangements. In fact, this was the first time that I've ever used a travel agent. Dyah and her company (Sunia Travel) exceeded my expectations! She carefully listened to all of my requests regarding flights, a hotel, and a rental car. She then made a travel package that exactly matched my needs for my first trip to Hawaii. Dyah even remembered things that I had forgotten about, such as booking me on my favorite airline! The price for the travel package was within my budget and there was no pressure to purchase any add-ons that I didn't want. Dyah is extremely organized, very patient, and available to answer any questions. Using Sunia Travel was definitely easier than booking everything myself!
