Born in southern Italy, Maria came to the United States when she was 9 years old. Once in the United States, her family settled in the Chicago area which is where she began her career as an Agent. Maria has been in the travel industry for 34 years and for 25 of those years she has been with LaMacchia Travel. She is fluent in the Italian language and understands both Spanish and French which is a great asset! As you can imagine, Maria specializes in the European and International travel market. She loves the multi-generational aspect of her job. She customizes “dream” and “once in a lifetime” vacations for families and groups. Her favorite European destination is Barcelona, Spain. In her words, “the architecture speaks to you” and the culture, food and history are a bonus. Maria takes travel to heart, she takes pride in the service and guidance she provides to her clients. She is known for providing wonderful recommendations to her clients in destination - anything from venues to visit to restaurant reservations.

Maria is married and has three children. In her free time she likes to read, and often reads cookbooks and tries new recipes. Like in most Italian families, food seems to be a theme. Her husband is the manager of a local Italian deli and her son is a Chef at a Mediterranean restaurant in Southeastern WI.
