Not all travel agents are created equally. So if you want to employ the best, it's important to find someone who has not only been working in the industry for many years, but has also traveled the world, visiting and getting to know many destinations in person. There are many travel agents out there who can boast of having done one of the other. And there are also some that have done neither. But I have done both.
I've been working in the travel industry for 27 years and have owned my own agency since 2000. I have also been fortunate enough to have visited 87 countires and to have viewed some of the world's most iconic destinations including, but not limited to:
- Okavango Delta in Botswana, walked and had lunch with the elephants
- Antarctica, followed part of the route tha famed explorer Sir Ernest Shakleton took
- Galapgos Islands, home to unique animals, unafraid of humans
- Vietnam,spent a memorable day with a local family
I have also sailed on more than 100 cruises on boats and ships that range in size from small yachts to mega cruise ships that carry more than 5000 passengers.

25th Anniverary Trip

Betty was very thorough, easy to talk to, prompt, and knowledgeable. Our trip was for a special occasion and Betty made sure the hotels were aware. As a result, they provided us with a special setting and bottle of champagne for dinner one night. The other hotel gave us a bottle of wine upon arrival. Throughout the process, it seemed like she really cared about us. We encountered some difficulty during our trip due to an unforeseen airport personnel strike that affected inter-island flights. We remained in constant contact with Betty and she was able to make alternate arrangements that were just as good as our original plan. This is the second time we have worked with Betty and will definitely do so again!

Betty was absolutely wonderful. She helped my wife and I to develop a great plan based on her experience of the region and all there was to know about going to the Cook Islands. She gave us wonderful tips on how to make our honeymoon amazing and even sent us champagne!! I loved not having to worry about getting from point A to B as Betty arranged everything from the moment we landed to the moment we left. She booked us an over the water bungalow at the Saint Regis in Bora Bora that was something we will NEVER forget. She is a dear soul who cares about your trip and I felt that every step of the way. Betty Crovo is without a doubt, the most responsive and knowledgeable travel agent I have worked with. I was vacationing alone and hoped to spend the majority of my time on safari in East Africa (specifically Kenya and Tanzania). From the beginning, Betty was determined to make this a reality. She knew I am a serious photographer and suggested I visit the Ngorongoro Crater, which impressed me with its incredible natural beauty and abundant wildlife. Betty strongly recommended that I consider Abercrombie & Kent (A&K), based on her own experiences as well as their impeccable reputation and years of expertise organizing African safaris. She worked with her contacts at A&K to keep this trip within my budget - and succeeded. Whenever I had a question or concern, Betty set out to find the answer. Her turnaround was impressive and she usually had a response for me by the following day. The result was a well-planned trip of a lifetime which I will never forget. Outstanding in every way!

Over the past 15 years we have taken a number of major, complex trips arranged by Betty, all of them were incredible!. These were not typical trips. They included the first cruise through the Northwest Territories, Iceland, Antarctica, and the entire South Pacific from Chile to Australia. She has always been outstanding! A Dream Come True Honeymoon!

Finding Betty’s contact information online while searching for travel agents specific to Bora Bora was a Godsend! Having a trip of a lifetime honeymoon was our #1 requirement and we knew we wanted to stay in an overwater bungalow since it was a bucket list item. I contacted other travel agents and was unimpressed. When I first contacted Betty on the phone I knew she was the sweetest woman and she really portrayed her passion for the French Polynesian islands. I knew right then and there that we found our travel agent! She quickly provided us with an itinerary and this was the first time I was beyond excited for our honeymoon. Her first attempt was SPOT on perfect that I quickly called my fiancé and told him we needed to book this trip ASAP! During the months of planning she was extremely responsive to any questions we had and gave us tidbit advice that not anyone would know unless they have traveled to French Polynesia!

I have used Betty for several big trips and they all went off without a hitch. She is very thorough and if plans need revising

Our family vacation to Italy was perfect and actually exceeded our expectations!! When we began looking for a travel agent, we wanted someone who had actually been to Italy and was familiar with the places we wanted to visit. We visited Tahiti on our Honeymoon in 1991, and decided to take a return trip for our 25th anniversary. Betty's name was listed as a "Tahiti Specialist", but that is a huge understatement! She is much more than that: she has traveled there multiple times and was extremely helpful in deciding which hotels to stay at, which excursions to book, knew the tips and tricks of the local culture to really make the trip perfect.
Our two week vacation (covering 4 islands) went off without a hitch; she didn't miss anything! All our transfers and arrangements were perfectly coordinated.
Most of our dealings with Betty were via phone or computer, but she actually took an entire afternoon to meet with me in person to share pictures, ideas, notes, do's & don'ts, etc. She is such a wonderful person; very professional, very personable, and extremely knowledgeable. We will definitely be calling her again when it is time to plan our next vacation. I not only gained a super travel agent, I feel like I gained a friend. We couldn't be happier with her and our entire trip.

Betty has arranged multiple cruises for us as well as traveling along on several. There is no detail too small for Betty and every need is anticipated without asking. We took a three segment, six week cruise from Chile to Australia which Betty arranged for us. On the flight to Chile my wife twisted her knee and could barely walk. Betty jumped into action and got us wheel chairs, walkers, and everything else we needed to accomodate my wife's challenge.
In addition, Betty has asked if there was anything extra I'd like on the cruise. When I checked in on the ship at Valpariso, Chile there were 12 cases of Cherry Coke Zero on the ship with my name on them! For six weeks I could ask for a can of my drink at any location on the ship, incluidng the swimming pool and the staff would get it for me. Our suite refrigerator was always full stocked for me! See, I told you Betty was Incredible!
I had a birthday on one of the segments on the way to Tahiti and of course, Betty had fully planned and arranged for a surprise birthday party for me. In fact, the next morning the head steward invited us to a special birthday breakfast in the dinner room!
Having traveled with Betty and her husband on at least two of our cruises, we now count them as two of our closest friends and a pure pleasure to be around.

Our trip to Italy could not have been better. The hotels were wonderful and centrally located. Betty went over my itinerary with me before we left, and I was confident I could make all the connections. We saw Cinque Terre, Florence, Venice, Sorrento, Capri, the Amalfi Coast and Rome. Our guides were wonderful and the whole experience was once of the best vacations I have had. Hope to get back there.

We have worked with Betty for many, many years and have always been impressed with her attention to detail. She arranged a cruise on SilverSea from Barcelona to Rome for my husband, myself and our 10 year old grandson.
Her knowledge of the cruise line as well as hotels is terrific. We have always found that even after she books the cruise, she checks and rechecks to make sure airline as well as hotel accommodations and cruise details are in order. I would and have highly recommended her to many. She is a joy to work with!

She saved our trip!

I started working with Betty last August on a family trip to Italy in March 2016. I did learn a valuable lesson, especially when traveling overseas, that ALL plans should be left to a professional. I did let Betty schedule our hotels and tours in the different cities however I decided to book our own airline tickets. I only allowed 90 minutes between flights from Baltimore to London then London to Venice Italy. Our flight was delayed 3 hours out of Baltimore causing us to miss our connecting flight. We were now stranded in London, during the Easter holidays, without a hotel. Betty worked day and night making new accommodations and altering our travel arrangements and tours in the different the cities of Italy. Our trip turned out beautifully and without a hitch.
Lesson learned: Betty advised that I purchase travel insurance and reluctantly I did.... I was able to completely recoup all additional expenses.

Betty helped us plan a last minute trip to French Polynesia. Since my husband has been overseas for the majority of 11 years and missed 2 big anniversaries, we decided to take a dream trip since he was going to be home for this years. Betty gave me a lot of great information and recommendations and working with the venders, was able to put together a great trip staying in both Bora Bora and Moorea. She had called prior to our arrival to make sure we were treated well and were surprised to be in an over water bungalow with a upgraded view! When we had an issue at our resort in Moorea, I was able to contact Betty on a Saturday with ease and she immediately was working the phones and sending messages to make sure we were taken care of. She has a lovely personality and certainly is tops in her business. We look forward to working with her again in the future and highly recommend her!

Betty takes good care of me and my travels which are always very important to me. She is knowledgeable about cruise lines and ports and what I should see in each port. She takes care of the details so that problems are avoided and if there should be a problem - she knows how to get it fixed. Betty has no qualms about asking to speak to the supervisor if she can not get what she wants from the initial custormer service person and she does it in a very polite and very professional way. She is also a great person to travel with and a good friend! You can't go wrong with Betty Crovo and Triumph Travel!

This was our second trip that Betty had arranged for us so let me comment briefly on both - First - Tahiti - 3 weeks - flawless trip, Betty handled everything just like she was MY TRAVEL MOM. There was not detail left untied. and had we done it ourselves, we would have missed a 4 day charter boat from Riatea to Bora Bora because of the flight schedule. She knew this and worked a delightful diversion - Also she had a great source for black pearls. Only end result was that we found out that Tahiti was a major wedding destination so the guests were all about 40 years younger. We felt we were not resort people. But a great time was had and my wife checked off her bucket list "stay in a cabin over the water in Tahiti! Betty KNOWS TahitiThis year was a trip to Cuba and Betty found the ideal cruise ship - a 900 pax boat that started in and returned to Jamaica So Betty used her Sandals Expertise and gave us 3 days at Sandals Royal Caribbean resort before and after Cuba. We wanted to see Cuba before it changed to much. The tour was very personable and informative. Good to great guides, ships crew was great, Cuba was more than we expected and again were well prepared by Betty. And we are going back in 2 years for sure, just to see the changes. We also found out that we could easily become resort people at Sandals. A totally phenomenal experience, super food , beyond exceptional staff, total relaxation, so nice to not carry a wallet, minimal hassle travelling there from BWI on American thru Charlotte, and Betty made sure we were well prepared. And yes, we are going back to a Sandals resort but just cant figure out which one.Sorry to go on and on but Betty IS 5 stars and we will work with her again.

Betty was splendid in planning the most wonderful trip to Tahiti/French Polynesia. My sister-in-law coordinated with her in planning a two-week trip to Moorea, Bora Bora and Tahaa that my husband and I are sure we could have never pulled off on our own. Betty's knowledge of French Polynesia is endless and easily helped us decide what to do and where to stay, and it all came together so beautifully! We traveled with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law and quite honestly, between my sister-in-law and Betty orchestrating the entire trip, my husband and I only had to show up and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Betty was professional, courteous, extremely knowledgeable and always answered any questions I had very promptly. She did such a great job putting this trip together so flawlessly that it makes me want to sit right down and plan another one with her at the helm! Traveling internationally can sometimes be a nightmare from what I've heard, but thanks to Betty, our trip was effortless and things went according to plan without any issues at all. All of our communications with Betty were via email but I sure wish I'd had the opportunity to meet her personally. When you're planning an important trip, especially one celebrating a special occasion and that is out of the country, it sure helps to have someone like Betty helping you navigate the waters!
We wouldn't hesitate to ask Betty to help us plan another adventure in the future. You shouldn't either!

I've worked with Betty on previous trips, but for my upcoming Canadian rail trip, I booked directly with Rocky Mountaineer. At first, I declined travel insurance, but later, after their deadline had passed, I changed my mind. I contacted Betty for a recommendation on which insurance vendor to use, but she took the bull by the horns and offered to arrange the insurance for me. It turned out to be much more complicated than anticipated, but she persisted and continued to assist me even though there would be virtually no compensation for her time. Betty is wholly committed to her clients and thanks to her determination, I now have a basic no-frills policy that will meet my needs quite well. Thank you, Betty!

I found Betty through friends who had taken some incredible trips through her agency. My husband and I weren't sure how to make arrangements to Hawaii but Betty made it fun, interesting and gave us something to look forward to! They suggested excursions that were once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and the hotels were relaxing and comfortable. Betty also took great care when we needed to change our flights to come home a day early; she was thorough and responsive to our needs.
