My name is Cleopatra Islar. I am an author, speaker, and group travel and cruise expert.
Learning new cultures and languages is my passion. Therefore, after working with international development organizations for over 35 years, and traveling to various countries, I authored and published My Odyssey from Guyana to America - via Africa.
My Odyssey is a timeline of wanderings, tragedies, triumphs and new beginnings. This book became the catalyst for C&G Global Connections Travel.

Outstanding from beginning to end. Our group of 4 went to London and Paris, a total of 10 days. Everything was beyond my expectation. Cleo did not miss a beat, she even communicate with us while we were away, to ensure everything was in order. Amazing trip to Dubai

I had the most remarkable trip to Dubai with C & G Global Connections Travel and Travel partners. Dubai surpassed my expectation with beautiful scenery, exceptional customer service, delicious food as well as the caring staff in the hotel we were staying. Learning about the history of United Araba Emirates from our knowledgeable tour operators really helped us understand the rich history of the seven emirates.Each place we visited was much grander than the next with our schedules taking us on boat ride down the Marina, Safari with Camels and Dune buggy rides, to going up the Burj Khalifia and visiting the Mosque In Abu Dhabi. It was all a trip one could hope for and a strong inducement to do another C & G Global Connections Travel adventure very soon.

Trip was wonderful in spite of poor leadership

She was very disorganized and every excursion left late. She also left half of her group at the border to Abu Dhabi and went on without us, with no guarantee that alternative activities were available when she made the decision.

It is unfortunate that this traveler omitted the fact that the (PANDEMIC) decisions that were made for one bus to go through the border were made by the Border Authorities. Fortunately, the bus that was denied was allowed to cross the border into Abu Dhabi the very next day. ALL Travel Partners received what was promised, resulting in everyone taking advantage of the full, organized, scheduled itinerary and no Travel Partner had more privileges than another. Thank you for your review.

Our South Africa honeymoon was a life changing experince and more than we ever expected it to be. Cleo was nothing short of amazing in planning our dream honeymoon. We had several changes that needed t be made during the planning stages and she work tirlessly to make sure our requests were still met. This was not easy as we were making adjustments during their busy season but she got it done. A Great Trip Experience

Ms. Islar responded promptly to all of my questions. I never had to wait for an unreasonable amount of time to get feedback. She even responded to me when she was out of the country. You will enjoy your experience with her. She worked within our budget and created a great experience in both London and Paris. Both hotels allowed us to be in the center of the key tourist places and activities. In London, we were across the street from Piccadilly Circus. We walked out of our hotel, and across the road it was fabulous. Additionally, the hotel's central location to all the tourist attractions allowed us to walk everywhere.
In Paris, our hotel was between the Eiffel Tower, Arc De Triumph, and Champ Elysee. We were able to walk downstairs in our hotel and look to the left to see the lighting of the Eiffel tower. A great trip experience.

Awesome Cruise With My Girlfriends

My trip with my girlfriends was amazing thanks to the attention and customer service we received from our travel agent, Cleopatra Islar. She booked us great accommodations and gave wonderful recommendations on activities on the ship and dining options. She was always available to answer our questions at any time. Cleo even arranged to have a welcome aboard fruit arrangement delivered to our cabinet. That was an extra special touch! It has been over 22 years since being back home in Zambia, and indeed for most of my family also. A trip was organised to make this long awaited journey back home to visit friends and family we've not seen over the years. I just came back from a Mediterranean cruise with C&G global. They were well organized, responsive to our needs, educated about the region we were in. They made sure that everyone’s needs were attended to in a timely manner. They crested a friendly atmosphere for the entire group to get to know each other as best as possible and did frequent check in to ensure that everyone needs are met. There were 58 people in our group and Cleo handled everything to our outmost satisfaction. She made it financially possible for us to make this trip by allowing us to make monthly payments. Every month she kept us on track with our payments and the next step to expect. She was thoughtful enough to put together a meet-and-greet so everyone got to know each other prior to our cruise. It was lovely! She make all the arrangements for the flights, transportation to and from the hotel and the various tours. This was a great help as she's more knowledgeable about the best hotel to stay at and the most popular tours to go on.

During the planning process, I found her suggestions so helpful and her global perspective makes her such an asset to have on your team. As we approached document and payment benchmarks, Ms. Cleo kindly answered all questions and nudged me anytime I needed reminders. I highly recommend the Mediterranean Cruise WITH port excursions to anyone. We explored Barcelona for 4 days before boarding the Royal Carribean Vision of the Seas ship. Our kids (9 & 12 yrs old) enjoyed all excursions and took away several educational experiences/information. Kids below 9 yrs old with short attention span might not enjoy the excursions and therefore affect the parents' experiences in the process.

Shout out to "C & G Global Connections Travel" for a great job in planning our recent 35th Wedding Anniversary celebration at the Hilton Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, FL. They took care of everything for us. Upgraded our seats on Spirit Airlines; secured a Junior Suite with a great ocean view at the Hilton; even had a Anniversary Card and some chocolate covered strawberries sent to our room on our actual anniversary. This isn't the first time that we received their special attention to details. They planned our trip to Hawaii in 2014. That trip truly was a trip of a lifetime. We'll be saving our dollars in hope of a vacation next year using "C & G Global Connections". Great job Cleo & Gerald. Ya'll good people!!

The best family vacation by far

This was the best family vacation trip by far. The Island was wonderful and kids friendly. It was a stress free for my family. All we had to do was pack and travel. Would definitely use her services again for my next family vacation.

Ms. Islar was very helpful and primarily responsible for the selection of the cruise our family took that proved to be the best quality and most economical. Ms. Islar personally assisted each family member through the reservation process, coordinated and processed incremental payments, and kept my family abreast of the options and added features the cruise line provided. Her guidance made the whole process painless and overall enjoyable. I would definitely use her services again for any future cruises and/or non-cruise vacations.

Our experience was simply amazing! I was glad to work with Cleopatra because she was very helpful with finding the right vacation for our price point and needs for a special honeymoon. I appreciated her giving us option and also recommending places that we didn't think about before.Our stay in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico was something MAGICAL. It was my first time out of the country and I felt so safe traveling. I also appreciated the care that we received when got to the airport in Mexico.

Exceptional vacation trip from start to finish!

We are a family traveling with the three T’s—toddler, teen-ager, and twenty-something adult. Cleopatra Islar worked with us and came up with the perfect trip to meet everyone’s needs. She offered excellent suggestions for travel destinations and ensured we had superb accommodations and travel arrangements to Jamaica including a special surprise for our wedding anniversary. This was our first experience utilizing a travel agent for our family vacation and we were truly impressed. Ms. Islar is extremely prompt, courteous, and readily available if you have any questions or concerns. We have already asked her to start planning our trip to Barbados for next year. It is reassuring to know that we need look no further than Ms. Islar for all our future travel plans.

Relaxation and fun for the whole family!

Cleopatra is well organized and responds to questions and requests in an incredibly timely manner. I have some flying anxiety and prefer to fly non-stop flights only, and Cleopatra was able to find us a non-stop flight that didn't appear on any of the regular search-engines. A wonderful experience all around and would definitely make use of her expertise for future travel plans.
