All Aboard

My wife and I enjoy traveling by train.  Trains will generally travel through areas that you may not see by any other form of transportation, and without the stress of driving.  We generally get a sleeper car for overnight travel, which normally includes some delicious meals from the dining car.

We've made a few trips on Amtrak's Sunset Limited between San Antonio to Los Angeles.  We recently flew out to Burbank, where we caught Amtrak's Coast Starlight up the Pacific Coast to Seattle.  Once we got to Seattle, we caught the Empire Builder to travel to Chicago mostly along the Canadian Border and through Glacier National Park.

We've also made a number of shorter trips on historic trains.  There's the Austin Steam Train, the Skunk train out of Fort Bragg and the My Old Kentucky Dinner train out of Bardstown.  For a much more modern train, we took a high speed train in France from Lourdes to Paris.

While we have found Amtrak's schedule to be a bit unpredictable, all of our trips have been full of adventure.
