Hi everyone! I'm a seasoned traveler turned green-horn travel agent, as I just joined my host agency KHM Travel Group this year (2021). Prior to this, I was a marine biologist that studied and specialized in sharks - YES sharks! So it's fairly safe to say that I like adventure! My research required a fair amount of travel across the country and to the Bahamas for fieldwork. Prior to that, I had only ever been to Mexico once. I started to quickly realize that with every new place I visited, I became more emboldened with my travels. I had this desire to push the boundaries, and an urgent need to stray from the well-worn path and find immersive and experiential travel connections.

My husband and I are born adventurers and are very fortunate to have visited some amazing places thus far. We believe in experiencing places like a local, leaving nothing but footprints, and taking nothing but memories. We're both marine biologists, so we support ecologically sustainable suppliers whenever possible, especially when we can see how wildlife tours are directly impacted (whale watching, diving, sea turtle nesting programs, etc). We always learn a bit of the language of the countries we plan to travel to as well. I'm better at Hindi, and my husband is better at Mandarin (although don't tell him I told you that)!

We've been fortunate to have traveled all over the United States, and our passport books hold stamps for the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia (the African continent is up next)! So far we’ve hiked in Kathmandu, haggled for bargains in Jaipur, been to the Forbidden City in Beijing, swam with sharks in the Bahamas, danced with new friends at Oktoberfest, rode rollercoasters in Copenhagen, and fawned over history and architecture in Roma. To date - my top two favorite cities (because it's a tie) are Bangkok, Thailand and Kathmandu, Nepal. I think I gravitate towards them because they are both wildly exotic compared to home, but both somehow feel familiar when I'm there. 

After several years of planning travel for friends and family and planning my own wedding, I'm excited to finally be a legitimate travel agent, and cannot WAIT for all of the amazing upcoming opportunities. The amount of knowledge I've picked up in just the past few months has been astonishing, and I'm so grateful for my amazing network of specialists in KHM and TLN!
