While I grew to love the rolling hills and lakes of Tennessee when I was growing up, I also loved visiting the deserts and canyons of Arizona. It is an incredible experience to see an entire hillside covered in cacti. The landscape is so different than what many of us in the Southeastern states are accustomed to seeing on a daily basis that it can be breathtaking. I always say that everyone needs to see the desert at some point in their lives! 

I have very vivid memories of traveling to Arizona when I was a child, visiting the Grand Canyon, and seeing the Petrified Forest. I remember driving around and thinking we were incredibly lost – which we may have been, but my Dad never let on! I have traveled to Arizona several times as an adult and loved every spot! Then last summer, we took our family vacation to Tucson and visited one of the many beautiful resorts before heading to a guest ranch. I think this family vacation would be in my kids top 3 family trips. They love Arizona as much as I do and ask all the time to go back! 

As a travel advisor, when my clients come to me to help with an Arizona trip, it is one of my favorite things! It’s often an easy flight and you can grab a rental car to be on the road before you know it. I love the variety of accommodations that Arizona offers. I have booked clients in 5 star resorts to charming boutique hotels in Sedona or glamping outside of the Grand Canyon National Park to a Dude Ranch stay in Tucson. If relaxing at the resort isn’t your thing, there are tons of different activities that can fill your days and I love to work those into my clients’ trips! A few favorite activities are the Pink Jeep Tours in Sedona, hiking in Scottsdale, tours of Horseshoe Bend and horseback riding in Tucson.
