Family Vacations Specialist

I am originally from the Chicagoland area where I was born and raised with my 2 sisters. I knew from a young age that I wanted to give back to the community and at 5 was already planning my career as a teacher. I did not always have the best experiences in school and wanted to come back as an educator to make a difference in someone’s life; honestly, I wanted to make sure that other kids were not treated the way I was.

Well, some health obstacles in college had me rethinking my life plan, so I took the approach of living in the moment and packed my bags, and moved to California to finish my degree. Before long, I found myself working at Disneyland.

Disney has always been something special to my family; it is where my parent’s spent their honeymoon, where we would take family vacations, it has always just felt like a home away from home, and, as luck would have it, I met my now-husband during my time working there!

After receiving my Bachelor of Arts from California State University Fullerton, some more health issues sent me back to Chicago where I would continue my education and earn a Master’s in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Special Education. I had some incredible teaching experiences in the Chicagoland area and felt like I finally had it all figured out! Then I got a call from my now-husband letting me know that he was slated to deploy in the coming months and he wanted me to move out to Colorado by the time he returned. So, plans shifted again but I found an awesome job as the Autism Specialist at a middle school in Colorado and was thrilled to continue my career after the move.

My husband and I hit a few more obstacles and I decided to leave my career in teaching to stay home and focus on our family. Two beautiful kids and 4 deployments later, I was itching to start providing again financially but was not ready to not be at home with my kids. Everyone had teased me about planning trips for people going to Disney Parks and how I should find a way to make a career out of it and then a fellow military spouse started telling me more about the agency she worked for, Marvelous Mouse Travels. It felt like just the right opportunity at just the right time and I took a leap of faith. Here I am now, working from home as a travel agent, helping people plan vacations to destinations across the globe, raising my kids and a proud military spouse!
