I became a part-time travel agent several years ago for two main reasons:

1. I enjoyed traveling and planning vacations for our family and friends.

2. To transition into a new career after my retirement from my long-time role as a business owner. For the past 18 years, I have owned and operated a retail bridal boutique. The shop has been profitable despite the distractions and obligations of raising a family during those years. Owning a business is very stressful. To be successful in it, there are personality traits required of the business owner that also translate well to being an effective travel agent:

When brides come into my shop, I do my ultimate best to ensure their dreams of finding the perfect bridal gown are fulfilled. As a travel agent, my goal is to fulfill clients’ dreams of their ideal vacation. I have always loved traveling to new and exciting places and wanted to share my joy with others. Creating memorable and happy memories for you is my priority and I settle for nothing less. When you solicit my services as your travel agent, I will start by taking all the time needed to gather information on your wants, needs, budget, and other preferences. I will then do the research to deliver a short list of destinations and packages for your consideration. Once you decide on the best one for you, I can take it from there, making all the arrangements with airlines, cruise lines (if applicable), hotels, car rentals, and all other necessary preparations to ensure a smooth trip. You get to relax and wait for the detailed itinerary I will provide, then show up for departure. My specialties are with cruises and Disneyland resorts. I have experience traveling and planning cruises with Royal Caribbean, Princess, Carnival, Celebrity, and Norwegian cruise lines. I also have experience with popular destinations in Mexico, Hawaii, and Las Vegas. I like working with families, adults-only, all-inclusive resorts, cruisers, honeymooners and wedding planners. I have access to many resources through my host agency, Dugan’s Travels. Their tutorials, webinars, conferences, suppliers, and guidance from other experienced agents give me the tools that help me to plan a fun and relaxing vacation for you.
