The first time I left the country on a vacation, I was 40 years old. Nervous? Anxious? Excited? You bet! I went with my mother, who was also leaving the country for the first time in her life. I researched every aspect of the trip - weather, flights, layovers, hotels, ports of call, what to see in each city, key phrases in the local language, what to pack, how to pack, etc. I LOVED it.
