I am the divorced mother of 3, grandmother of 9, and great-grandmother of 6 so far. I have been a Registered Nurse since 1973. I found nursing a rewarding experience. I sought out employment in long-distance locations in order to travel. I have lived and moved my family to various places including Europe, New York, Florida, Las Vegas, Alaska, and California. I sustained an injury and retired in October 2013. It then became time to fulfill my interest in travel with a new career.

For more than 45 years travel has been my passion. In 2001 I started learning about the travel industry and joined K&E Travel. I pursued my travel education through The Travel Institute, Travel University, and individual vendor programs. As time progressed, I expanded my reach for knowledge to include professional online and face-to-face networking.

I decided in the winter of 2008 that it was time to develop my own agency. Sheila's Creations Travel opened its doors in February 2009. My oldest daughter works with me as an agent; 6 other agents plus group leaders work for the agency, as well.

My agency and I are now proud members of ASTA Small Business(NACTA), ASTA, CLIA, IATA, APTA and the ARC VTC program. We are also members of Travel Leaders Network. In 2010/2011, I served on the Board of the Caribbean Travel Organization of North California. I am currently VP of SFBA ASTA Small Business Network Chapter. I have been on the cover of the Magazine and Speaker at 2 Annual Conferences.

I continue my education and travel frequently to assess new properties and see new cruise ships. In 2018 I travelled to Guizhou Province, Guiyang China and Kenya Africa.

For instance, one time I booked a honeymoon to Maui, the couple did not opt for my recommended property. Instead they chose a condo property that was $150 cheaper due to construction discount. Once they arrived, they were totally unhappy! They called me at 2 a.m. and I had them immediately transferred to my originally recommended property. They were so happy with the transfer and their honeymoon stay. They wrote a wonderful recommendation on Tripology.

I have been presenting at bridal/wedding shows and other venues and learning about this specialty since 2010. At that time my focus was the US, South Pacific, and Caribbean travel. After years of research and study, I am now a member of the Destination Wedding & Honeymoon Specialist Association & IADWP (International Destination Wedding Professionals). I attend the Annual Love Mexico Conference and other offerings in Romance Travel classes to remain current in the Specialty.

I have invested in studying Caribbean, European, Central American, African and Asian offerings for weddings and honeymoons & growing worldwide contacts. I traveled to Japan to visit Wedding & Honeymoon venues also. I have worked on a Wedding in Nicaragua in addition.
