Before my good friend Georganna Cross and I became travel agents, we were travelers. We traveled together to historic Williamsburg, Virginia; gorgeous Maui, Hawaii; enjoyed cruises of the Mexican Riviara and the Caribbean.

Since becoming agents, we've traveled even farther, cruising the Western Caribbean, Bermuda, the Baltic Sea, and most reecently, Alaska. Together we visited our dream destination, The Holy Land. It was a spiritual journey to sacred sites where total strangers came together to share music and worship.

Every trip I take teaches me something that I can use to serve my clients better.

For example, on a recent trip to Scotland, we had some unexpected car trouble and had to switch to traveling by train, bus and taxi. The trip was actually much better without one of our group having to drive and miss the beautiful countryside views. And, I learned that many Scottish “roads” are actually single-lane cow paths, so driving would have been a bit stressful!

My very first overseas trip was to an exotic location: Tunisia, North Africa. We stayed with my daughters inlaws for two weeks and experienced true Tunisian life, including public baths, Tunisian cuisine, making baklawa, grinding henna and dancing to the Darbuka (Tunisian drum). I want to now share this insight and knowledge with others when planning their getaways.
