I am a romance and family travel expert dedicated to the creation of amazing and memorable travel experiences. It is extremely important to me to be able to provide you with exceptional service and attention to every detail.
I have been planning travel my entire life, starting with family trips when I was very young. I would always contact the visitor's bureaus and tourism boards in the cities and countries that we were going to travel to in order to get as much information as I could about our upcoming destination. This passion continues with me today as I strive to design unique and memorable travel experiences for my clients with the best resources possible.
I have previously lived in Mexico and have traveled extensively throughout the country. I have expert knowledge of the country's people, language, culture and beauty. I am a Mexico Travel Expert through the Mexico Tourism Board, as well as a specialist for many destinations and resort properties within Mexico. It is an amazing country with everything to offer for any type of travel. The beauty of the beaches, mountains and countryside, the richness of the culture, the warmth of the people, the availability of adventure and the value that you can get for your money make it an outstanding destnation.
I have traveled extensively throughout the USA, Caribbean, Europe and the South Pacific. All are wonderful destinations. The proximity of the Caribbean to the United States and the beauty and diversity of the islands make it another wonderful choice for destination weddings, honeymoons and family getaways. I am a One Love Jamaica Travel Agent Specialist, a Certified Sandals Specialist and also a specialist in many of the Caribbean island destinations and resorts.
I am a member of the Destination Wedding and Honeymoon Specialist Association (DWHSA). I am also a Certified Romance Travel Professional and have completed the Love Mexico and Mexico Romantico Programs. I am a Hard Rock All-Inclusive Resorts WOW Wedding Specialist and a Palace Resorts PRO and Wedding Specialist.
I am fortunate to travel often for business and pleasure. Regardless of the purpose of my travel, every journey that I am able to take provides me with a wealth of knowledge and experience that I am able to pass on to my very valuable clients. I visit Mexico and the Caribbean a minimum of 6 times a year to get first hand experiences in the destinations and to visit as many resorts as I can to be able to give the best information to my travel clients. I also stay current on destination, resort and cruise certifications to be sure that I have the most up to date information possible.

Time of our Lives

Carrie was excellent to work with. I am so thankful for the friend that referred her to us. Carrie was thorough in asking us detailed questions on what we wanted to do on our trip and what we wanted to see. She was patient with me and all of my questions. The hotels and excursions she booked for us were wonderful. She was a great help when we were departing as our flight was extremely delayed. She made sure our transfer was notified of when we would be there. Same on the way home we had another delay that caused us to miss our flights back tot he US, we called her and she helped us get a hotel for the night in a city/country we did not know much about. I will be using her services again and referring our friends!

As avid travelers, we never use a travel agent and generally do things on our own. But when we endeavored to plan a destination wedding we were referred to Carrie and we could not be happier with our choice. Working with Carrie was an absolute dream. Not only was she professional, efficient and beyond knowledgeable, she was also so very kind. She truly made us feel as though we were her only clients. This was especially important as we were planning a wedding during a pandemic.

After six months of trying to plan a Mexico trip for my family on my own, I stumbled upon Carrie Van Bruwaene, who helped me find a resort, weed through ratings/feedback, and work within a planned budget. However, the amount of unreliable reports seemed too risky for my intention of creating long-term good memories for everyone. After a week of considering the options i found and she presented, she recommended I increase my budget (slightly) and book with Hyatt Ziva Cancun. I am so glad I listened to her! Everything was smooth and pre-coordinated, from airport to resort and back. Do not listen to the few disgruntled ratings about Hyatt Ziva on websites. The service is the best I've ever experienced anywhere.Carrie is a pro and saved me at least $1,200. don't waste your time trying to plan a complex trip; save time and cash by hiring Carrie!

Awesome family vacation to Cancun

We had an excellent experience working with Carrie and highly recommend her services. Carrie was so helpful planning our family vacation to Cancun. For this trip, we took my children and needed to find a resort that catered to younger people. She started by asking questions about what kind of a resort and activities we were interested in and then she researched the resorts and activities and summarized them for us with recommendations and pros/cons of each. She found pricing that we couldn't have gotten on our own (amazing!) and she was so informative every step of the way. She is very customer oriented and responded to my questions promptly even when she was traveling. The information and choices she offered all came with explanations and recommendations. Her experience planning trips to Mexico was so helpful. She even found us an excellent excursion to the Mayan ruins for us. I don’t know how I could have gotten through that last trip without her. Like it was so stressful but still ended up being a time of a life! None of carries fault only airline stuff but she was our hero even to the point of answering my phone call on her vacation at 3am for my cancelled flight. I have done one other trip with her and it was smooth sailing and beautiful. She always knows where my family should go by knowing her clients!

We have worked with Carrie on several trips over the past few years and our experience has always been great. Carrie has arranged all of our trips for the last several years. She is knowledgeable about all sorts of destinations, and she is passionate about travel!
Carrie has arranged four cruises for us, including two to the South Pacific and one to South Africa. Her attention to detail is excellent. She works very hard to get the best possible prices on the trips overall as well as the trip insurance.
This fall we are looking forward to traveling to Germany and France, Iceland, and South Africa--all arrangements made through Carrie. We gave her our preferences of where we would like to visit in Europe and the time frame and she did the rest! Every detail has been arranged, including rail passes and flights between Germany and France. If I have any questions, she is quick to respond either by text or phone or email.

Carrie took the time to find the perfect vacation for my daughter and myself. Once we had it booked and everything was done, we needed to add another person. Carrie added that third person immediately and was very efficient and kind. From the very beginning she made sure that we were going to the best vacation spot for us. She kept in constant contact and kept us updated.Unfortunately we had to cancel that trip, but turned around and booked another one with Carrie for a later date. She had this one completed and booked within 24 hours - again making sure we were going to the perfect vacation spot.

Carrie's organization & focus is amazing. First she listened to MY priorities, whereas some travel agents let THEIR interests take over. Then she provided choices & communicated the pros & cons of each & backed it up with detailed literature (yet not overwhelming).........After that "pure excitement" & off to gorgeous Riviera Maya/Isla Mujeres. The accommodations exceeded expectations. Connections were well-organized right down to providing me with a thorough "What to do, what to expect & items to take list. This trip I can honestly say I never left an item behind, nor did I worry I would........Just followed her check list.
Now about that gorgeous Caribbean.....The various shades of turquoise blues & emerald greens is amazing. It almost brings tears to your eyes as you fly over. Okay, I admit It DOES & IT DID. My sister & I were met by prompt USA transport connections made by Carrie.....Great Service! This was my first all-inclusive at it was wonderful. We stayed at Condesa Americana...It was spotless, friendly, numerous activities & great restaurant choices. What a great experience to just swim up to the bar and ask, "May I have another Miami Vice please?" Just like that...the courteous (good looking too) bartender cheerfully obliged.
Just writing this makes me want to contact Carrie at Mexicar Vacations for another get-away!

Two great trips

I can't say enough good about Carrie. She has always been very attentive to all of my families travel needs. Her knowledge of different resorts has been extremely valuable over the years. And her contacts at the resorts have helped to make our vacations wonderful.I completely trust that if Carrie recommends something - it is going to be perfect.
Some people feel like they need to have face to face contact with their travel agent, but with Carrie's attention to detail, the fact that she is located 1,000 miles away never comes into play.

Above all, she was accessible during the trip. We ran into a few hiccups which she was on top of and took the stress out of the process for us. Fun Family Trip!

We booked a family trip to Southern California to do Disneyland, Universal Studios, and beaches during our week long trip that Carrie help us arrange and plan. Everything went perfect and we had a great time. She always goes above and beyond to make each trip special and we have never had any kind of problems at all. This was the 4th or 5th vacation we have planned with Carrie's help (including our honeymoon) and we are already working on our next trip in the spring with her. Carrie was great to work with! She worked hard to get my husband and I the best deals and best honeymoon we could ask for. Everything went great on our trip, there were no problems or mix-ups of any kind. She was great at checking in and reminding us of final payments. Carrie has planned numerous trips to Mexico for my husband and me. She is always courteous, diligent and knowledgeable. She offers insight concerning many locations and resorts. Most recently, she booked a trip to Cancun for us; however, less than 24 hours prior to the trip I decided I wanted to go to Puerto Vallarta due to weather concerns. Carrie changed the flights and location without a complaint. She is truly a pro. The trip was fantastic! There were no issues with making such a last minute change, thanks to Carrie!

Carrie has planned multiple vacations for my extended family and her services do not disappoint! She provides plenty of information about the area, things to do and the best restaurants. Our most recent trip had a party of 16! She planned dinners for us, excursions and even coordinated all of our flights so we could be on the longest stretch together as a family! There is truly not a detail she missed in planning our trip, checking in with us before we left and making sure it was everything we hoped it would be when we got home. Carrie is absolutely wonderful! She has planned 2 vacations for me, including my honeymoon. And we are in the process of planning our 3rd trip through her now. She is so fun and easy to work with! Any request you want, she takes care of them. I feel like when we go on vacation all we have to do is pack our bag and that's all we have to worry about she has taken care of all details for us. Carrie is extremely good at what she does, she herself has an amazing travel resume, so to me she knows about most or all of the areas you would be traveling. Carrie cares about your needs and wants and listens to you very carefully, so she can make sure you get the very best experience out of your vacation. We did not have to do anything to prepare, she took care of all of our flights, room reservations, cruise documents and all transfers and sent us all paperwork via email and hard copies! We have never been disappointed with anything from start to finish with Carrie, I just can’t say enough good about her! And definitely you can tell she loves her job! Carrie did a great job helping us plan a getaway for my husband and I. We went to The Royal in Playa del Carmen. All of her advice was great. It was wonderful to have air transfers and excursions planned out ahead of time. On our last day, we couldn't get an answer about our airport pick up time from anyone on site. I emailed Carrie and within 15 minutes she had called the transport service directly and confirmed our time. Amazing! So comforting to know that she could help even from afar.
