I personally have enjoyed river cruises and I have also helped many clients experience their own river cruises throughout Europe. I love the ease of river cruising and how you port right into the city .  You  often have long days in port and can really experience a city both from a culture standpoint but as well as food.  

Each river especially in Europe also has it's own personality and topography differences. Whether it be flat or hilly landscapes or areas steeped in wine, culture, and history.  There are so many beautiful river regions to explore in Europe whether it be the Rhine, Danube , Rhone, Moselle.  

I was also able to attend a river cruise conference and experience 12 different cruises.  I met with business partners from each of the companies as well and both experiences provided me with great insight into the differences between the different cruise companies. This enables me to not only fit the itinerary to the traveler but the cruise company and ship as well.    

But don't just stop at European river cruises there are great itineraries for Asia on the Mekong, sail the Nile river in Africa and the Magdalena river in South America.
