A travel advisor for the past 30-plus years, I have sent people all over the world. I’ve visited plenty of places myself—a total of 49 countries on all 7 continents, in fact. Not many people can say they’ve been to Antarctica!

Booking travel to unique destinations is one of my specialties, along with cruising.

The places I’ve been to that stand out the most are India, Bali, and South Africa. I also lived in Costa Rica for two months. We found a beautiful condo right on the beach that was within our price range and could be reached easily so our family and friends could come visit.

The best hotel I’ve ever stayed in was the Amstel in Amsterdam, because it was Christmas Eve and we were dining overlooking the canals and the piano player was playing “Winter Wonderland” and it started snowing. It was so romantic and magical.

I always try to buy an art or craft piece for the house on my trips. One of my clients brought me back a lovely Halcyon Days enamel paperweight with a map of the world on it, and I still have it. I think I lead a charmed life!
