Josh Alexander, a former lawyer, joined the travel industry almost a decade ago after realizing the value of a travel advisor through planning his honeymoon to Africa. He noticed the travel industry was experiencing an identity crisis and wanted to meet the demand of the next wave of travelers, a younger and more dynamic wave. He had the vision to address this gap in the industry and “failure was not an option.” Josh got in touch with a few industry icons and decided to join Protravel International shortly thereafter as an independent contractor.   

Through the years, Josh built his business through extensive product and destination knowledge and superior service to tailored experience for his clients on an individual level. “I believe that travel is about details, passion, and excitement. I’m always amazed when people are willing to spend $20,000, $30,000 or $40,000 on a trip but they can’t find time to speak to me on the phone,” he says. “I’m happy to supplement that phone conversation with an e-mail, but there’s no better way than a phone call to convey not just important details and logistics, but also excitement and passion about a destination or a hotel. Some people would say that’s old-fashioned.”
