My family took me to Walt Disney World when I was four years old. My memories are faint from this trip, but I remember being happy. I remember the jumping water fountains mesmerizing me and this trip planted a seed for what was to come.
My love for Disney grew from hearing stories from my best friend growing up. Her family went to Disney yearly and she had the best stories of The Most Magical Place on Earth. She told me about the Disney hotels, meeting Mickey Mouse, and riding on the monorail. I knew I wanted to go back!
In college, my roommate mentioned that she was going to this Disney College Program presentation and I was intrigued. I attended the presentation and in a few short months I packed my bags for a semester at Disney World! I studied on my off-days and worked at Magic Kingdom most evenings. It was a remarkable experience. We made magic for families and we ended each evening with the best fireworks display in the country. Every night I was reminded about dreams and wishes!
Years later I was bringing my son to Disney. We started with Disneyland when he was fourteen months old, and I wasn’t sure how much he would really enjoy it. He loved it! He loved seeing the characters, listening to live music, and watching the street side shows. It was so exciting to see Disney through his eyes! We took him to Disney World when he was three where we all participated in runDisney events. Our most recent trip was to celebrate Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. I love how Disney offers something for everyone and all ages can come here to find magic!
Walt Disney World requires so much knowledge compared to most destinations. It’s a massive resort with four theme parks, two water parks, a massive shopping/entertainment area, two miniature golf courses, thirty-two resorts/hotels, and too many to count restaurants. This is a destination I know well and I enjoy guiding families to make the best decisions for their trip!

Back to the Magic
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is located near Magic Kingdom and is themed after Yellowstone National Park. It’s one of my favorite hotels at Disney, but it’s the first time I’ve stayed here. This is actually the first time I’ve stayed at a Deluxe level resort and now I’m spoiled!

As an experienced traveler herself, that gives her the ability to suggest so many different ideas, and pit falls to avoid just traveling to your destination. She was thoughtful enough to also print out maps for our road trip for areas GPS might not come in.
