Australia a land Called Down Under, being an Aussie from Australia, I am always excited to share with you the wonders of Australia. The first question people asked is where should I go in Australia, what months should I go, remembering the seasons are opposite and how long should I go for. Australia is made up of 6 States and 2 Territories and they are all quite different in scenery and climate . I have traveled and spent time in every state and territory , the east coast of Australia is the closest to the USA, like all of Australia it has white sandy beaches. To the north of Australia are tropical rainforests with the Great Barrier Reef running down the side of the east coast. At the most southern eastern side of Australia is the beautiful southern island of Tasmania. The East coast is home to the larger cities , in the north is Brisbane with close access to the Gold Coast and the Great Barrier Reef. Then further south is Sydney with its breath taking harbor and close access to the Blue mountains with the 3 Sisters and further south is Melbourne which has close access to the Great Australian bite with the 12 Apostles , towards to the West you have the City of Adelaide, or known as the city of churches, then you have the beautiful city of Perth . Below are my picks of Australia , Brisbane the capital of the State of Queensland is the gate way to the tropical North rainforests and the white sandy beaches of the Goldcoast offers many wonderful sights , one of the main attractions is the Great Barrier Reef there are many ways to access the reef with boat rides to a purpose built pontoon for snorkeling and scuba diving or simply to spend time relaxing and enjoying the reef from a glass bottom boat. Sydney the capital of New South Wales with its beautiful harbor a has the world famous Bondi Beach, there are many great hikes along the coast and also in the Blue Mountains a short drive away, Enjoying the harbor either on the water or at one of the many restaurants always offers a memorable experience. Melbourne the capital of the State of Victoria boasts wonderful restaurants and one of the world's most scenic and dramatic drives, the Great Ocean Road in Victoria is an amazing stretch of coastline that is a must-see while in the region. A tour or self drive will take you to see the highlights of this spectacular track that offers some great geographic and wildlife photo opportunities. Featuring the 12 Apostles in the great Australia Bite. Another favorite of mine is the Port Phillip Island a short drive from Melbourne features spectacular coastal scenery andf Australian wildlife. Visit the Penguin Parade take a virtual Antarctic Journey , see Koalas at eh Koala Conservation Reserve. Hobart the capital of the Island of Tasmania home to the vary rare Tasmanian Devil. Tasmania’s natural beauty is captivating, its cultural experiences are diverse, and its food and drink offering is enviable. Adelaide the capital of the State of South Australia in the gateway way to the wine country of the Barossa Valley The Barossa is one of the world’s great wine producing areas, boasting more than 150 wineries and 80 cellar doors, dine at renowned restaurants and explore nearby villages and national parks.Perth is my home town , located on the West Coast of Australia , Perth Western Australia – and that's why the locals love it. Art galleries, al fresco breweries, relaxed neighborhood and epic events all live in perfect harmony. And with nearby wineries and even friendly quokkas, With endless white sandy beaches a day trip or short stay at Rottnest Island with its Quokkas the smallest of the Australian marsupials. A trip to Perth Western Australia is also the gateway to the Kimberley’s located in the in the far north of the largest state of Australia. Cable Beach in the town of Broome and near the town of Kununurra the largest manmade lake in the world Lake Argyle are also not to be missed. Darwin the capital of the Northern Territory is gateway to one of the last frontiers of the world, boasts the Kakadu Nation Park, Australia’s biggest national park you will find ancient landscapes with thundering waterfalls, lush rainforests, wandering wetlands, exotic wildlife and ancient rock art.Covering nearly 20,000 square kilometres, Kakadu National Park is a World Heritage listing renowned for both its cultural and natural values.See breathtaking horizons from the top of a Kakadu escarpment. Cruise on the stunning Yellow Water Billabong to spot crocodiles and wildlife in their natural habitat, millions of migratory birds who in-part call the park’s wetlands home. Not only is Kakadu spectacular lush rainforests, rocky gorges, serene swimming pools and the oldest Indigenous rock art in the world. The center of the Northern Territory has Uluru, or usually known as Ayers Rock is one of Australia’s best known natural landmarks. Let me share with you the wonders of Australia and all it has to offer.
