If you want to see the landscape in full bloom, I’d recommend a trip between April and October.  Plan a visit to Lisbon and Porto As a travel agent advisor for Portugal, I’d suggest a visit  to the capital city of Lisbon first. Lisbon is a vibrant city that blends the modern with the historic in a stunning and picturesque way. Walk down the cobblestone streets of Lisbon’s old town and you’ll discover ornate Baroque churches, colorful tiled roofs, and ancient buildings.  You can easily spend a whole day exploring Lisbon. If possible, visit during the second half of September. That’s when the city hosts the annual Vinho Verde wine festival. Other must-see destinations When in Portugal, you may want to add the region of Algarve to your travel plans. Located in southern Portugal, Algarve is known for its gorgeous beaches and azure waters The city of Coimbra is another recommended travel locale as well as the small city of  Évora - noted for its beautiful architecture and historic sights  The Ria Formosa Natural Park, also located in southern Portugal, is known for its beautiful beaches and lagoons. You may also want to add the city of Sintra to your travel itinerary - a place with a rich history full of stunning architecture. Some key travel tips Although credit cards are accepted, you still should carry some cash. Also, learn some basic Portuguese phrases. While the Portuguese are very welcoming to visitors, it always helps to show that you’re making an effort to learn their language.
