The Wonders of Rome
The Colosseum and Roman Forum
Rome is a destination unlike any other in the world. Rome was not built in a day and you can’t see everything there in a day either. I think it’s called the Eternal City because you can spend eternity there and discover a new experience every day!
Highlights include the Roman Colosseum, Vatican City, Borghese Museum, The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Forum and countless others. There is something for everyone to love in Rome!
Insider Tips
Those are all great places to visit but you don’t need a luxury travel advisor to tell you that. As a certified destination specialist for Italy, I can enhance those experiences with secret tips and tours you won’t find on Google.
I offer exclusive access to those destinations and make your experience there unique. My luxury travel service provides you with unparalleled and private access to the Vatican and Borghese Museums, to name a couple. You will be matched with an expert guide in your interests. We can also arrange a destination wedding inside St. Peter’s Basilica.
You want to connect with an Italian travel expert to help you with an authentic experience that other tourists don’t know or skip because they haven’t heard of.
Amazing Art Museums
Most tourists rush to the world-renowned Vatican Museum and Borghese Museum to see the masterpieces by Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Raphael, etc., in those extraordinary galleries. But Rome has dozens of museums with art that will inspire you. The Capitoline Museum is home to some of the most incredible sculptures in history, including the Colossus of Constantine, the Equestrian Statue of Marcus Aurelius from Ancient Rome, and Bernini’s Bust of Medusa from the 17th century.
You will also find several halls of paintings, mosaics and frescoes dating to the 14th century. A few of my favorites include Rape of the Sabines by Pietro da Cortona, Scarsellino’s Flight into Egypt and Diane the Huntress by Guiseppe Cesari.
The museum was built on the Capitoline Hill, one of the Seven Hills of Rome. It was the most sacred in Ancient Rome and overlooks the Forum. Expert tip: if you take the full museum tour, there’s a pathway to some glass doors. Walk through them for some of the best views of the Roman Forum.
In a city like Rome, it’s hard to call anything off-the-beaten-path or a hidden gem but there are museums where you can avoid massive crowds. History lovers will enjoy The Baths of Diocletian. It was the largest imperial baths built in the late 3rd and early 4th centuries. You can explore the ancient frigidarium (cold baths), caldarium (hot baths) and museum dedicated to Ancient Rome.
Galleria Doria Pamphilj (named after the family it was built for) is a treasure trove of masterpieces. It’s the largest private art collection in Rome. It’s mostly oil paintings and sculptures but there are also a few frescoes. You’ll find pieces by Titian, Raphael, Caravaggio and Vélazquez. This gallery, which can include a visit to Princess Doria’s private apartments, is practically hidden and can be difficult to find unless you know what you’re looking for.
Where to Stay
Picking the right hotel is often one of the most stressful parts of planning a vacation. My favorite neighborhood to stay in is the section between the Spanish Steps and Piazza del Popolo. You are close to everything but it's tranquil as soon as you enter your luxury hotel. The side streets here include Via Margutta, Via Vittoria and Via del Babuino.
There’s excellent shopping in this area and enough restaurants to try a different one every day for at least a year! You’re also a short walk from Terrazza Viale del Belvedere for stunning panoramic views of Rome and Villa Medici, a Renaissance palace. Interestingly, Villa Medici belongs to France and has been the home to the French Academy in Rome since 1803!
This area is also home to some of the most luxurious hotels in Rome. They take personal service seriously and treat guests like a member of the family. You’re guaranteed the most elegant amenities and you’ll enjoy the freedom to be as casual or formal as you want.
Art enthusiasts will love the galleries, boutiques and pop-up shops along Via Margutta. These shops are hidden gems just feet away from some of the most popular attractions in Rome.

Perfect Vacation!
Matt Exceeds Expectations
Matt planned our "dream vacation" to Portugal - our first trip with our 15-month-old and our first vacation in some time.
I thought what I was looking for didn't exist: a luxury farm stay befitting foodies, animals for my one-year-old to see and a heated pool. He found it and it exceeded expectations.
That was just the start. Matt planned every detail of our entire trip and even came to the rescue when we had to rebook the whole trip a day before departure when our little one got sick.
I cannot recommend Matt and Unique Luxury Travels more highly.
Managed to please everyone

The Perfect Trip to Europe
Matt is a seasoned traveler who is knowledgeable, resourceful, and thorough. If there was something he didn’t know, he would take the time to research it and get back to us right away. Matt respected our desire to plan some things ourselves and he helped fill in the gaps. He got us great rates on hotels, found the best excursions, and even helped make restaurant reservations. His skills shined when he found us a private tour guide to see Stonehenge and figured out the best way to get from city to city. Most importantly he ensured that the trip went smoothly with no mishaps. This was our first time hiring a travel consultant and plan on using him again in the future.
David, Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm thrilled you and Adrienne enjoyed your vacation. I enjoyed keeping up with your posts and seeing how active you were on Facebook! I'm honored to work with travelers like you.

A Home Run Vacation
Miracle Worker
I contacted him for help with an all-inclusive in Mexico or the Caribbean. He asked me a lot of questions and took the time to listen to what I was saying. I was holding out on what I really wanted, a Virgin Voyages cruise. I knew it embarked in two weeks and it was sold out. In less than two hours, Matt reserved two rooms for my family with extra sailor loot!
I'd give him 10 stars! He really provides an expert, personalized service. I'll be contacting him again for all my vacations.

A big help!
Very easy to work with.
We finally found the travel advisor right for us!
Matt was thorough and flexible. Our most recent trip was just what we wanted!
He found us great tour guides, just exactly what we were looking for in hotels and attractions, and even made dinner reservations at some great local restaurants that were not expensive - the kinds of places that the locals go for a good meal.
When we missed one transfer, he was right there to help us make sure we still got to do the things we might have missed. I highly recommend him! Can't wait to go on our next trip planned by Matt.
