Hey there, fellow adventurers! My name is Karis, the charismatic spirit behind Karismatic Adventures LLC. I'm your go-to travel guru for creating the most unforgettable scuba diving experiences in tropical paradises and the good ol' USA. Now, I may be the face and voice of this venture, but I've got a fantastic sidekick—my husband Josh. You can usually find us exploring the depths together, always seeking that next great underwater experience.
So, why scuba diving, you ask? Well, it all started in the Dominican Republic. Josh has always been something of a fish, naturally at home in the water. While we were vacationing there, he couldn't resist trying out the scuba gear in the pool. At that time, I was around 350 lbs and wasn't sure diving was something I could comfortably enjoy. Inspired by Josh's aquatic affinity, I decided to take charge of my life, lost the weight, and by 2021, I was not only comfortable but thrilled to be diving right alongside him.
Our scuba journey kicked off right here in town, believe it or not. We got our diving certification in an indoor pool! It's honestly that easy to get started. Once we got that coveted certification, the world—or should I say the seven seas?—opened up for us. We've explored everything from a hauntingly beautiful sunken ship in Bonaire to drifting dreamily along the currents in Cozumel. And let me tell you, nothing—not a single thing—can beat the surreal and heartwarming experience of encountering a sea turtle casually swimming by as if it’s just another day in paradise.

Karis went above and beyond, and not just on booking my travel bundle. I have used other TA’s in the past and their involvement usually ended once the vacation was booked, but not Karis. She was on top of everything when we missed our connecting flight making sure the airline got us vouchers and hotel accommodations. When the airline lost our luggage she stayed up until nearly midnight tracking them down to ensure they would at least be at our destination when we arrived. Once we made it to our resort I messaged her about some issues I had with our room and she promptly alerted the resort, I had someone knocking on my door 2 hours later to rectify all the issues. Once we made it home she helped me file the claim for our travel delay, lost luggage, and travel interruption. I will definitely be using Karis as my TA for all future travel adventures!!

Appreciation post for our amazing incredible travel advisor Karis Joyce Shaffer at Karismatic Adventures #mykarismaticadventures. This was the first time Dillon and I have ever traveled out of the country and our first time flying together, being responsible for our selves. Karis was there for us every step of the way! She was able to answer every question asap and never made me feel silly or like a huge bother! When we had big bumps in the road she was on top of it! She also gifted us these beautiful tumblers to use on our trip! Because not only does she do vacations but she also makes beautiful things at Karismatic Creations Who does that!?!?! Please please please go like, follow, and message her for any of your vacation planning, beautiful things needing, etc!! Karis is great and very accommodating. If she didn’t have answer she would go above and beyond to find it and make sure I was safe on my travels. My international first trip so far has been good because of the help I received and she is still periodically checking to see how things are going.

It was difficult for my Type A personality to give up control and allow someone else to assist me. Alas, I did and Karis came in clutch! Karis was communicative, detail-oriented, and resourceful. She understood my {boujee} needs and delivered.

Monkey and Sloth excursions were fun. The pic ending in 203701 (picture is on FB & IG ) was from the Beachers Bar & Grill, we had a lot of fun there. We walked up and down the West Bay beach trying different bars and restaurants.I had a great time snorkeling. If you ever have a client that is looking for a place to go snorkeling, I highly recommend it. The water was the calmest for reef snorkeling that I’ve seen. I would be willing to talk to a client of yours to give them first-hand information about it.
I would recommend Karismatic Adventures to a friend. Karis did a great job. She stayed in touch with us. Her response time to questions was good. We felt that she cared about our trip the whole way through.

Karis has been amazing she help my the entire process, we have to change the dates multiple times and she has been amazing on helping us. The process has been stress free, We just let her know where we wanted to go and she did everything else. My sister wanted a ocean view room. She went above and beyond to help us. She is professional, caring and wonderful. Karis just wants you to have a great time and a great experience. Overall I would said don’t stress in looking for your dream/perfect trip Karis would have you covered. I would recommend her a million times she is the best.

Facebook friends…if you need an amazing travel agent, look no further than my wonderful friend Karis. She recently helped plan our amazing trip to Costa Rica. Karis is the best she was great in find us everything we need for our trip. This was our first family trip sisters and nephews ages 4, 9 and 18. We had to cancel a couple of times and she great in helping us to accommodated the changes. I would definitely recommend using her she has patience, is super friendly and is available to accommodate everything that you need. Karis is always checking on you to see how things are going.
