The first time I experienced river cruising, I was hooked! I didn’t just arrive at a destination; I docked right in the heart of it and was immediately immersed in the culture without the hassle of packing and unpacking. Unlike larger ocean cruise lines, river ships are smaller, offering you a more intimate-style atmosphere. You're not just another passenger; you're part of a close-knit community of fellow travelers. River cruising offers a unique blend of convenience, cultural immersion and luxury that is hard to beat. I’ve personally sailed the Danube and cannot wait to sail the Rhine very soon!

You can also find seasonal options such as Easter or Christmas Markets which are perfect for creating special family memories. Imagine your family together in Europe strolling through Christmas Markets and sipping glühwein or hot cocoa. Perfection! 

There are many beautiful rivers to cruise in Europe, but you can also experience immersive cruising in South America, Southeast Asia, Egypt, and Africa. The two river cruises on my “living list” are sailing to Africa with my family, both on the Nile in Egypt, and the extraordinary Chobe River for an African safari.
