New Orleans is a unique North American city. Some call it "the northernmost city in the Caribbean". While swimming along the mighty Mississippi River isn't advised, the laid-back vibe is certainly reminiscent of that tropical region.

Most everyone knows about the (in)famous Bourbon Street and all of the more sophisticated charms in the surrounding French Quarter. There's also nothing like a streetcar ride through the Garden District...or strolling down Magazine Street in Uptown. 

Music is the heartbeat of the Crescent City. New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz and one can hear classic and contemporary takes on this American creation day and night. 

New Orleans is a world-class restaurant. For seafood lovers in particular, it is a dream come true. For most everyone else, it is easy to find an eatery to fit one's taste and wallet. 

As many sailings depart from New Orleans, it makes an excellent pre- or post-cruise destination.

Finally, it's the people that make New Orleans special: hospitable and resilient, they are the reason why visitors return year after year. 

My wife, a New Orleans native, helped me fall in love with this city. It almost feels like a second home to me. I was inspired to pursue a specialist program as certified by the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau. I look forward to showing you why New Orleans makes for a memorable holiday.
