Any traveler’s list should include sites such as Cradle of Humankind, Lesedi Village, Soweto, Apartheid Museum, Nelson Mandela and Bishop Tutu’s birth place, and many others. Johannesburg also offers a very active nightlife, with casinos, upscale shopping and several renowned restaurants. 

Other cities in South Africa have much to offer. Durban has great beaches and surfing. Pretoria has great museums and historic sites.  Stellenbosch has some of the best wines in the world.
