I truly appreciate the warmth, history and the true culture of Mexico. I have been fortunate to have visited many areas of Mexico and enjoy sharing my passion and expertise.
Cancun - The American/European Mexico. This area caters more to the more modern Mexico travelers with all of the features that would be expected of a warm beach destination. Great hotels with lots of dining and lounges. Fun shows and shopping. Excellent water activities and nature experiences.
Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen and Tulum - This is the more southern region of the Cancun area. A little further ride from the airport but lots of great hotels to choose from. The towns of Playa and Tulum are wonderful for shopping, dining and evening bar hopping.
Playa del Carmen is where you will find the ferry port for a trip over to Cozumel.
Cozumel is just quick hop flight or ferry ride away from Cancun through Playa del Carmen and an easy day trip to take in incredible snorkeling and diving. It is also a laid back island to stay at with a fun vibe in town by day or night.
Isla Mujeres is the island to the north of the Cancun area and near Playa Mujeres hotels with a quick ferry ride to spend a great day. Shopping, dining, driving golf carts around, and one of the most amazing beaches in all of Mexico, Playa Norte!
To the west are the Pacific coastal locations of Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan. Each and every one are unique in their own way.
Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos is the northern most destination. The marina area offers fun shopping, nightlife, dining and the only section that has safe beach swimming. Great deep sea fishing area and whale watching in season.
Mazatlan is truly old world Mexico and the Shrimp capital of the world. If you like history, tradition and seafood, then this is the area for you!
Puerto Vallarta is the mountain area to me. It also has a great Melecon for dining, shopping and nightlife. It has the beauty of both beach and mountains.

Prior to selecting a travel agency to work with on our European vacation, we personally met with Monique to be sure she had the expertise we were looking for. We are a family of 5 (husband/wife/2 adult children and mother) traveling to Germany to celebrate a relative's 80th birthday. Throughout the planning process, Monique was very attentive and responsive to our numerous emails and telephone calls. During the planning stage, we made several changes to the itinerary and she provided updated pricing quotes promptly. A suggestion we have for A1 Travel partners in Europe is to provide specific detail about where to board a ferry (Rhine cruise with Koln Dusseldorfer boards at Pier 4 in Bingen), nearest parking lot for tours, etc. Details that can save the traveler time and energy. Having reserved tickets for various tours/concerts before leaving the US allowed us to move past the long ticket lines and provided more time for sightseeing and shopping! A memorable European vacation!

Monique has been fantastic to work with over the past seven years. I was traveling out of the country two to three times per year on hunting trips, mostly to Africa and Central Asia. She has a good understanding of the needs of hunters carrying weapons and ammunition. After I started having her do my travel plans, the guns arrived with me 100% of the time. Prior to that, the hunt was usually over by the time they arrived. Monique starts looking for the best fare months ahead and has saved me lots of money over the years. On one trip alone, she saved about $2000. on a business class fare with Turkish Air by having me depart the USA from Los Angeles instead of Chicago. Arrival in Central Asia was the same either way. I can highly recommend her for arranging your next trip anywhere.

We recently returned from an 11 day trip to Africa. We used Monique from the Edina location. We visited Victoria Falls, Moremi Crossing in the Okavango Delta and ended in Capetown. Everything was perfectly planned. We had a five star experience in every way. The care that was taken from the guides for us, the hotels, all were wonderful. Being picked up and dropped off worked well. We were most surprised with the Mango Cruise. We did not know that it was a boat just for us managed by four staff and the guide. It was magical and I have very fond memories.
We learned the money and found out how to tip and we did so generously because of the service rendered.
The only financial surprise was confusion over a visa going into Cambodia. I thought we didn't need a visa. But we were told to get American dollars from an ATM and pay $35 each for a visa. It felt cheesy.
My favorite hotel was the Indochine Palace in Hue. What made it special were the staff and the awesome service. The guides were also helpful, especially Duc in Hanoi and Phuong in Hue. Phuong helped with the doctor. Sokros in Cambodia was outstanding also. Our every request was accommodated by the guides. Truly a memorable experience.

Family Vacations

She helped us find fun things to do and booked them for us. I was so busy planning my wedding and she took all the stress out of planning the honeymoon. I was able to just look forward to it and enjoy it! As I would throw out ideas she would do all the research. It was an amazing partnership. I have worked with Monique before and it is SO worth it every time. I have already recommended her to my friends and family. The stress she takes out of planning a trip leaves only the best parts behind. We talked so much through the months of planning that I feel like we're old friends. She's always my first stop anytime I plan a trip. In fact our first anniversary is only 11 months away... I should email her soon :)

Monique is an absolute pleasure to work with! She has now helped us book two family vacations (Hawaii w/10ppl and Mexico w/4ppl). She is knowledgeable about the locations, pays close attention to the specific things everyone in the group wants from their vacation while providing us with options and responsive to ALL of our questions no matter how small or how many times we may ask. :-) Our most recent trip Dec 28, 2017- Jan 2, 2018 to Mexico was for my sister's 40th birthday. We selected the Valentin Imperial for its 8 bars and 11 restaurants and were not disappointed. The resort it absolutely beautiful and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Most memorable experience is a toss up between the foam party at the pool (too much fun) and the New Years Eve party (what a night). There was a live band and a DJ every night in the main area. 24-hour room service. I could go on and on.

Honeymoon in Ireland and scotland

To say that I have an extensive travel schedule would be an understatement. Work and pleasure comprise about 6 months national and international travel annually for me and my family. I use Monique for 100% my travel arrangements. After trying other agents in the past and experiencing constant problems and issues, I was fortunate enough to find Monique. I was referred to her thru a colleague of mine, who himself, works in the travel business. That was about 6 years ago and I haven't used any other agent or agency since. Monique always makes herself available and responds timely and professionally. She is proactive in the way she sets up and handles travel arrangements in an effort to avoid any unnecessary problems. If issues do arise, thru elements out of her control, she is quick to respond and tackles them head on. She always looking out for the interest of the customer.
