As a dual US/EU citizen, I've traveled nearly 60 countries and circumnavigated the globe twice. My background includes working abroad in Australia, Thailand and Indonesia, as well as study abroad in Italy. More often than not, I'm traveling solo! It's all about new friends and new experiences, adventure travel is my jam.

I'm also a freelance journalist as seen in TravelPulse, Atlanta-Journal Constitution, Herald & Review, and Seattle Times. After receiving a grant for agents of change, in 2015, I was honored to be named one of the “30 Under 30” in travel. Today, I sit on the board of the directors for the World Tourism Journalism Organization.

Costa Rica - Pura Vida!

We wanted to get out of town over the Christmas holidays but didn't know where, but after picking our brains Kat recommended the perfect getaway to Costa Rica. Amazing Galapagos Adventure

I worked with Kat over a number of months to plan a bucket list trip to the Galapagos Islands. We coordinated a separate booking that I made on the Aggressor live aboard dive boat. Kat was excellent to work with. Besides having a lot of energy and enthusiasm for the love of travel, she helped arrange hotels, tours, transfers, etc. I have never used a travel agent before because I always felt that I could do it on my own. For this trip, I felt like the complexity was worth it and having just recently got back, I would say I'm glad I did. There were a number of instances where I was so thankful to have the additional help that came from booking this as part of a package. I would highly recommend working with Kat on your future travel plans.

Amazing First Trip to Europe / Honeymoon!

I highly recommend working with Katherine on any travel adventure. My wife and I contacted her to help us with travel to Portugal as our delayed honeymoon / first trip to Europe. Kat has become my #1 go-to for travel. She is a true travel professional who works tirelessly to get her clients the best price on the best vacation with all of the luxuries and inclusions possible. Since working with her I have both chosen to book vacations on my own (and sometimes despite her seasoned advice), and through her - and when I book separate or don't listen to her advice, travel is never as good! She's visited so many places that she really knows what to recommend depending on the type of trip I need, and can always find the best price. I recommend Kat to all my friends and family, and feel bad for those who don't choose to work with her!
She got us an incredible belated-honeymoon in Jamaica that we well cherish forever, and the amenities she scored at our awesomeresort in Mexico for our nabymoon really made things enjoyable for a 6 month prego! We are both #katvalleratravelagentforlife

Trip of a lifetime

I always wanted go to Spain, but was not sure how to go about planning a trip that would maximize my time there. Kat took the time to learn about me and found the perfect bike tour of Northern Spain. Amazing trip to Cuba!

I normally book all of my own travel but struggled to book domestic Cuban flights so decided to search for an agent who had travelled to Cuba and contacted Kat. From the first phone call where we discussed the itinerary she spent a lot of one on one time to plan the details to get it right. The result was we had an amazing trip to Cuba and Mexico City and the accommodation was superb. Having an agent meant I had transfers booked which made it so much easier than negotiating local transport on my own! I would highly recommend Kat if you are looking for a travel agent who has hands on experience and you can trust her to book the ideal accommodation for your budget and preferences.

Central Europe Extravaganza!

Kat will work hard to get you to where you want to go and make certain the experience you want to have will happen. She is hard working, friendly, and knows what she is doing because she has travels frequently herself and can give first hand guidance to the travel experience you desire. We traveled to Amsterdam, Vienna, Prague, and Berlin. Our hotels were fantastic, exactly what we needed and close to any transportation or places we wanted to go in these cities. We were in change of our own schedule (other than an AMAZING beer tour in Prague that kat recommended) and it worked out fabulously thanks to Kat!

The honeymoon of our dreams!!

Kat helped us plan our honeymoon and made it a perfect trip. We were unsure of the location we wanted to go since it was the heart of hurricane season and we wanted a beach vacation. We also wanted to make sure we went to a LGBT friendly location. From the beginning Kat had several suggestions and ended up planning the perfect trip, complete with a snorkeling excursion and a romantic dinner on the beach. She also gave us several good tips about Aruba and travel hacks to make the trip easy and fun.

The best honeymoon possible.

Kat is nothing short of exceptional. She really goes above and beyond the call of duty to understand the wants and needs we have and to make sure they are met on the trip she helps us book. There was an issue with the hotels (not Kat's fault) and she handled it like a trooper and made sure that we were compensated for the trouble. Kat helped us find incredible places, tours, and flights. Kat went out of her way to be in great communication with us, to make sure we knew where our money was going, and she walked us through all of her steps of putting it together for us as the trip came together. This trip was our honeymoon and so it was special to us, and Kat knew that, and she made sure it was special. We will remember this trip forever and are forever indebted to Kat for all the help, effort, dedication, and hard work she puts in. If she did this for us, then I am sure she does the same for everyone else. Kat deserves a lot more than a pat on the back or a thank you.

Scuba... Monkeys... Volcanoes... OH MY!!!

I had only 10 days to plan my trip, and Kat was spectacular at asking me the right questions about what I really valued and wanted on the trip. She then gave some great (and really unexpected!) suggestions on what to do and what to avoid. She helped to steer me clear of the crusty/dusty bus tours and the places that were over-run with tourists. On my Asia trip, I had also planned a visit to Tokyo, but she informed me that the cherry blossom festival going on at the time would have made my entire trip cost prohibitive. (I'll do Tokyo next time) She made sure that my dollar went far! My trip included visiting a monkey forest, a semi-active volcano crater, ancient Hindu temples, white water rafting and getting my 4-day scuba diving certification at a little-known dive resort on a tiny island near Bali! I can tell she genuinely enjoys her job and was constantly keeping tabs with me on the trip to make sure everything went smoothly. I can't say enough good things! Kat is the BEST!
