My name is Lacey Sorrels and I am a travel advisor with Destinations in Florida. I love helping people discover new places and create lasting memories! At this time I exclusively book Disney, Seaworld, and Universal Orlando vacations. I have been visiting the central florida area for close to two decades and have been unofficially helping people plan their vacations for just about as long. I have officially been a travel advisor booking vacations since 2020. If the craziness of 2020 taught me anything, it was that having someone on your side to walk through every step of the travel process is essential when the unthinkable happens, no matter what it is!

I decided to specialize in Disney, Seaworld, and Universal Orlando due to some of my childhood favorites. While I didn’t grow up very connected to Disney movies or characters, I would always see the Walt Disney World vacation planning commercials on television. Each time I saw it, I would long to visit this magical place that seemed so far off. I even ordered the vacation planning dvd when I was around 10, and I would watch every little mini video in the planning guide. I knew that one day I would get to visit, and one day I would help others visit too! I did grow up on the Harry Potter franchise and it was a major part of my childhood and teenage years. I didn’t learn about the Universal Parks until my mid 20’s, but when I realized there was a place where I could step into the world of Harry Potter, I just knew I had to go. And that first trip was just as magical as I had imagined. I was hooked! The first time stepping through the brick wall and into Diagon Alley is a feeling and a memory that will be with me always. Seaworld has a combination of two of my favorite things: sea life and incredible roller coasters!

Some of my favorite things to do in the theme parks are trying new foods, meeting characters, riding as many things as I can in one day, finding new details/theming that others may not notice, and well….EVERYTHING! I am a roller coaster enthusiast and have yet to find one I won’t try. I recently started a mission to visit at least one theme park in all 50 states. So far I am 4 states in with quite a ways to go! In regards to the central florida theme parks, I find the one of the best parts to be all of the special celebrations. From Food and Wine Festival, to Mardi Gras, to Halloween Horror Nights, to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party - there is always a celebration to participate in across Orlando. Between all of the different celebrations offered across the parks, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

My favorite vacation so far has been the fall of 2022 when I spent a week at Universal Orlando on my first ever solo trip at 30 years old. I’ve never had an issue with going places or dining alone, but there is something so invigorating about spending a week at your favorite destination by yourself. As I ran from ride to show, to snack cart, and back to another ride my inner child burst out with the joy of being let loose on my favorite playground and being able to do all my favorite things as I wanted. Every vacation to Orlando is refreshing, but this trip was an absolute treasure.
