How I Became a Travel Agent:
I have always loved an escape. Growing up, I was able to take some pretty amazing trips with my Dad that grew my desire to explore. I’ve strolled along beaches in Hawaii, had dinner in Cinderella’s Castle, sailed above the mountains on a hot air balloon, and swam with the dolphins in the Caribbean. These are just a few of the experiences that I had prior to entering the industry. These experiences are what ignited a passion for travel for me at a young age and inevitably started me on my journey as a Travel Agent. I have always been a planner, and extremely detailed in nature. My family and friends always knew they could count on me to help them coordinate. After years working in customer service, I found a career in the cruise industry. After a while, I knew that I wanted to not only book trips, but help people get the best value, find the perfect itineraries, and build lifelong relationships with them. So, I started my journey.
My Experience:
Since becoming a Travel Agent, I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge by taking industry courses & trainings, earning certificates, obtaining my own LLC and Cruise Line International Association Credentials, and even pursuing a bachelor's in Entrepreneurship at Rowan University in South Jersey. I have built and continue to build relationships with many vendors and suppliers to get the best rates for my clients.
This all being said, I am not only a travel agent. I am an engaged mom of 2 boys and 2 dogs, and I understand the importance of thinking about all of the details of a trip whether it is Disney or a Destination Wedding. It can be stressful and time consuming to do on your own, especially with all of the changes that COVID has brought the industry. Some destinations require specific forms to be filled out, vaccinations, or visas, and is crucial to be in the know about this before booking a trip.

Honeymoon in Jamaica
Shannon was great! She was very helpful in planning our honeymoon to Jamaica. She was very responsive and knowledgeable about procedures for international travel during COVID. She even checked in with us during our trip to make sure everything was going well. Highly recommend. She set up a few excursions for us as well including Dunn's River Falls, Horseback Riding on the Beach, and Martha Brae Rafting. We had a lot of fun and will definitely have stories to share for years.
Birthday Trip to the Train Museum
Shannon was amazing to work with. So attentive and listened to everything we wanted. I felt like I've known her forever. We were looking for a short getaway for our son's birthday and had wanted to do something that involved trains, since he loves them. She booked us a weekend down in Baltimore, and got us tickets to the aquarium as well as the train museum. The hotel was very nice and family-friendly and the rate was fantastic. Knowing we had small children, she made sure our hotel was close to many food options and that it was a safe area. We will be using her for all future getaways. Babymoon in the Bahamas!
Shannon was amazing from beginning to end especially because when I first sought out a travel agent, I had no idea where we wanted to go for our babymoon. She provided a TON of package options with transportation, insurance, and everything included. She ended up finding us a great deal on a five star resort in the Bahamas with nonstop airfare. We had a wonderful time from parasailing to just enjoying the sun and the aqua blue water. First time using a travel agent and I don’t think I’ll ever not go through Memory Lane Travel!
A Magical First Family Disney Trip
Shannon is extremely knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to make sure you are a booking a trip to remember. She thinks about all of the details of a trip, that I wouldn't have even thought to consider, and was able to keep our Disney trip in budget. She even sent us a surprise Disney announcement puzzle for my kids to put together on Christmas. I will definitely book more trips to come with her!!
A Wonderful Cruise Specialist
Initially, wanted to book a cruise from Hawaii to Vancouver. Because of everything with Covid, I had wanted the help of a travel agent. A friend recommended Shannon from Memory Lane Travel. She made the arrangements for us on Royal Caribbean and picked great stateroom locations. She was friendly and professional. The cruise had gotten cancelled and she was able to take the credits and get everything re-booked for us on another sailing. She was with us every step of the way and spent many hours ironing out our details with the cruise line. We also had her help us book a river cruise from Memphis to New Orleans. She sent my sister and I each a special gift of strawberries and champagne along with a note wishing us a wonderful cruise. She knew that we were scheduled for a cruise on a Carnival Ship last June and sent us Carnival's safety protocols for the upcoming cruise, even though we had booked it direct a while back. I will continue to use Shannon for all of our future cruises!
Key West Honeymoon to Remember
We went to Key West. Shannon did a great job, actually an incredible job finding us the right place for the right value. Nine years ago, I married my beautiful wife of today and we went to Key West for our honeymoon. Unfortunately, I was having heart troubles and could barely walk, so most of my vacation was spent immobilized. A few years ago, I received a heart transplant so we had decided to go back. Shannon got us an incredible deal at a beautiful resort in Key West very close to Mallory Square. It has always been my dream to go back there with my wife and do what we should have done the first time, and Shannon made it possible. She even arranged a gorgeous sunset sailing for us to celebrate. I wouldn't hesitate to use her again!
Many Successful Trips and a Destination Wedding
We have used Shannon many times now to plan our vacations and she planned my destination wedding and I will never plan another trip without her! She is simply amazing and takes away all the stress of planning a vacation! Not only does she find us the best deals but she takes care of everything from the airfare to the hotels, cruises and all the details in between. She answers promptly anytime I have a question and goes out of her way to make sure everything goes smoothly. She has booked a trip in Key West for us, Universal, Jamaica, a few Cruises, and our Wedding. The wedding was in Punta Cana with over 85 guests and it was absolutely gorgeous. Last Minute Changes Handled With Ease
I cannot say enough about Shannon with Memory Lane Travel. I'm currently undergoing medical treatment and have had to cancel our plans several times. Initially, we were booked to go down to Fort Lauderdale on a short beach weekend. Due to changes the day before, we had to cancel, and Shannon was able to get the money completely refunded through the travel insurance. We then ended up just taking a weekend away in Cape May, and she was able to arrange the hotel accommodations for us pretty quickly. Shannon has been there with us every step of the way. She is always searching for the best deals for us and keeping us informed throughout our travel plans. She has been a diamond in the rough for us, compassionate and dependable.
Bachelorette Party Trip in Orlando
Shannon is an amazing travel agent!!! She helped us plan and book a bachelorette party weekend of a lifetime at Epcot in Disney for the Drink Around The World experience as well as a Universal Vacation Package! She was able to find us affordable package options when booking for this trip. This included the resort, tickets for the park, flight costs and everything else in between! She provided a full Itinerary of the trip and made it very easy for each of our bridesmaids pay their own share. She goes above and beyond and answers all your questions in a professional manner no matter the time of day whether it was 6am or 10 pm at night, she’s fully available.
