I have been in the travel business since 2013 when my husband and I opened our travel agency, Wishdrawals Travel. My love for travel started way before that, though, with my Mom working for Delta. My family traveled to many places together and it sparked my interest in seeing the world! What really got us to where we are today, though, is our first family trip to Disney world back in 2008. Our daughter was 5 then, so we were doing the normal "right of passage" thing with checking this off our list! We would go to Disney one time and then that would be it. Boy were we wrong! A Disney Cast Member upgraded our room at the Polynesian to a castle view and we were introduced to the world of Disney magic. The way we felt at that moment was truly special. We felt like VIPs and from that moment on our love for Disney was solidified! Little did that Cast Member know that her one time of sprinkling pixie dust on us would result in our lifelong love for Disney, our company being formed and now many years later we have helped thousands of families experience the magic we once did! Our passion is Disney Destinations and we do everything in our power to make sure our clients feel like VIPs, too. I have been to Disney 50+ times and have cruised on Disney Cruise Line 10 times!
Well, my love for travel didn't stop with Disney! Since 2013, I have been to places I never thought I would! In 2016 I visited South Africa (17 hour flight one way) and Zimbabwe. What a truly remarkable experience to see a different part of the world! I was able to take a cable car to the top of Table Mountain with Cape Town below. I visited the Cape of Good Hope which is the westernmost point of the African continent! I took a safari where I got to see Elephants, Lions, Cheetahs (oh so close, too) American Buffalo and Rhinoceros and giraffes! Seeing how these animals live was truly spectacular.
Also, while on the African continent, I visited Zimbabwe which is home to the largest waterfall in the world, Victoria Falls. It is shared by Zimbabwe and Zambia. The Zambian side has something called Devil's Pool where you have the ability to sit in an area that is away from the strong current, but you are able to get right up to the edge! The name is derived from the very danger of being so close to the edge of the falls!
In 2017, I visited the Asian continent, specifically China! On this 2 week trek, I was able to see so many interesting locales and places of history! Tiananmen Square which translates to the "Gate of Heavenly Peace" is known to most Westerners as the place where the protests from 1989 took place. It actually used to be the gate to the Forbidden City which was built by the Ming Dynasty in 1406. To stand in such a historical place was truly awe inspiring. I was also able to visit The Great Wall of China, The Terracotta Warriors, Shanghai Disney, and took a cruise on the Yangtze river!
In 2018, my world exploration continued, but this time on the Northern tip of the African Continent! This time, I visited Morocco. I truly didn't know what to expect with this country. You see Muslim countries in the news, but with all of that, I was happy to see it is a place just like anywhere else. The people were so nice and welcoming. During this almost 2 week journey, we visited many places which I will remember forever. I visited the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca. It is the largest functioning mosque in Africa and the 7th largest in the world! It allows 25,000 worshippers inside and 80,000 outside! I also stayed in Chefchaouen which is known as the Blue City or the Blue Pearl. This is truly a unique place as it gets it's name from those who came in 1492 and started the tradition of painting the buildings blue. We visited the winding alleyways of the Medina in Fes which was a little scary considering I could get lost easily if I wasn't following our tour guide! We visited the lively square of Marrakech which is known for being one of the most beautiful in the world. It is filled with culture and heritage at every turn. Towards the end of my journey, I stayed in the Sahara desert in a tent camp. We rode a camel to our destination and watched the sunrise above the dunes the next morning.
Although I have been to many exotic locations around the globe, some of which I didn't get to mention, I have also been to places closer to home. I have visited many Caribbean islands including Antigua, Turks and Caicos, St. Thomas, St. Marten, St. Croix, Jamaica, Tortola as well as locations like the Bahamas and Mexico. I have the knowledge and experience to get you anywhere you want to go!
I hope you have read this far and you feel that I am someone who can help you and your family see the world with confidence and ease!
