I help families and multi-generational groups plan vacations to Iceland so that parents and children can see the breathtaking beauty of Iceland, have an amazing trip, and leave with lasting memories.
I create custom, one-of-a-kind itineraries for families visiting Iceland. I start with a video call with you, where I learn what you'd like your vacation to look like.
No two Iceland itineraries I create are ever the same.
Do you want to do short hikes and stay in Airbnbs? I can make that happen.
Do you want to see puffins, climb on glaciers, and stay in guesthouses with free breakfast? Sure.
Do you want to minimize driving time each day but still see some amazing sites? Absolutely.
We don't just make small tweaks to a standard itinerary. We start from scratch, using your exact dates, flight times, and preferences.
I never try to sell you on a tour or a hotel that pays me the highest commission. Quite simply, I plan your vacation to Iceland as if I were planning my own.
I spent the summer of 2016 with my wife and 5(!) kids in Iceland. During that trip I took thousands of pictures, recorded hundreds of touring tips, and turned it into a book. The second edition of Iceland With Kids was published in 2020.
I've been back twice since then to see what's new!

Eric is simply the best when it comes to trip planning a trip with kids in Iceland. Maybe even without kids. His knowledge base and tricks to save money pay for themselves. There are little traps you can run into and he helps you avoid them like booking a hotel in the wrong area. And his knowledge of new and old attractions is unmatched.

We had the best time in Iceland! We only had four days this trip, and Eric helped us use our time wisely. There is so much to see and do and he put together four perfect days. Our three boys (10,11,13) LOVED it. He helped pick accommodations in the perfect locations and booked everything for us ahead of time. He provided a detailed itinerary that housed all the days’ sights along with descriptions, pins for directions and all necessary pre-purchases entry tickets. It made for four seamless days and the children loved scrolling through each day for a preview. We travel a lot and I normally spend a lot of time researching our locations and reading blogs, attempting to plan a meaningful vacation. For this trip I left it all to Eric and it was perfect.

Working with Eric was a pleasure from beginning to end! I had already started planning when I read his book. Having little knowledge of Iceland, I was feeling pretty overwhelmed. Eric simplified EVERYTHING! He took what I had planned and expanded on it to create a very personalized adventure. Video call to get things rolling; Texted through a program called Basecamp throughout the planning process; video call right before we left to solidify everything in my mind. He was available while we traveled and helped with details (like getting a refund on our canceled ferry trip, and letting us know immediately that our Northern Lights Tour was cancelled.) We knew the cost up front. He saved us money on bookings that pretty much offset that cost. We used an app on the trip called "Step by Step" that comes with Eric. Amazing trip. Eric‘s knowledge of Iceland and his natural treasures was fabulous, and he did a great job giving us step-by-step directions for our entire stay. Eric helped us plan a 2-week trip to Iceland for our family of 5 (with 3 teenagers)! His services and guidance were invaluable and worth every single penny! He was so easy to work with and so responsive and accessible. Eric from Iceland w Kids did an outstanding job creating a one-of-a-kind vacation for my two pre-teens and I. I thought short notice would be a challenge, but he managed to work his magic and plan a vacation that included all the details we were craving, plus many more that we didn't know we needed. He found guides and tours for us that matched what we wanted and minimized what we didn't want. Eric helped us plan a recent trip to Iceland. I learned about him through his book "100 Tips for Visiting Iceland" (which was very useful in itself) and that he helps people plan trips to Iceland (with or without kids). For a very fair fee, Eric helped us 1) decide what parts of the country we wanted to see 2) where we might stay and 3) what kinds of things we might do. He listened to our travel style, took into account our own suggestions and came up with an itinerary that was full enough to keep us busy yet flexible enough to let us go off-piste as we chose. He sent us to many places (and people) that we know we would never have discovered on our own. He came up with the itinerary and let us save money by doing all the bookings ourselves. I highly recommend working with him for a trip to Iceland with or WITHOUT kids. Our kids are grown so this was just for us. Eric was available throughout our trip if we had any questions, though we didn't really need to contact him.

We had the greatest trip! We've been wanting to go to Iceland for years, but weren't sure about where to go, and how kid friendly of a destination it would be. Eric did an amazing job with our itinerary. He really listened to us and what our specific needs were as a family. Everything he recommended was great. Our kids have been all over the place, but this was their favorite trip. I highly recommend Iceland With Kids, I know the trip we got was much better than anything we could have put together ourselves. The set up of the itinerary with the navigation makes it really easy too. Each day was layed out really nicely with options, and recommendations, and things that we could skip if everyone was too tired. It gave us a lot more time to enjoy ourselves as a family and not spend time worrying about what's next and where are we going to eat.
