My love of travel stared as a small child. A huge "THANK YOU" to my parents. They brought me to so many locations. This is how my true passion of traveling was born. We traveled extensively throughout the US and Canada. Always traveled by a pick-up camper or motor-home. For weeks at a time. Disney World was a favorite after opening in 1971, Disney was where we would spend many of Christmas's. When my daughter was 1 1/2 years old..the first place we decide to go was to Disney..."The Happiest Place on Earth".
My first trip to Europe was in 1979, spending 2 1/2 weeks in Spain. In 1987 I went to Mazatlan, Mexico with my siblings/spouses and friends. From that point on ...my heart fell in love with Mexico. I have been to many different parts in my 60+ trips. This is my total comfort place. It can quiet a restless mind.
I have also been to these destinations.. Roatan, Honduras, Guatemala, Jamaica, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Canada...and ALL over the US.
A new adventure that I have expanded on... bus tours. Canada to Niagara Falls, Smokey Mountains & Pigeon Forge (September 2023) , and will be heading to Myrtle Beach for a holiday show tour in December of 2023. For 2024 tour are still to be determined.
The past few years, I fell in love with getting behind the wheel of a vehicle. Reminds me of the old times with my parents. The United States has so much to offer. The beautiful mountains. Naming my favorite mountain would be the Teton Mountains in Wyoming. Words can not describe the beauty of of this range. Our west, south, and east coast are surrounded by the ocean. The US has amazing forest, we have deserts, snow and plenty of sunshine.
The biggest take away from these locations...their culture, the people, their foods. Before leaving one destination... I am looking for the next locations. Seeking out fun, new experiences, from the quaint hidden gems to the all-inclusive and everything in-between.
Travel isn't always pretty.
It isn't always comfortable.
Sometimes it hurts, it even
breaks you heart.
But that's OK.
The journey changes you;
it should change you. It leaves
marks on you memory
On your consciousness,
on your heart,
and your body.
You take something with you.
Hopefully, you leave
something good behind.
