When our children were young, my Wife and I made the decision that we weren't going to let the short time we had with them go by without making memories, so we made a plan to do a few vacations every year as a family.

These trips included destinations such as: Los Angeles, Disneyland, Hawaii, Disney World (multiple trips lol), Cocoa Beach, Destin, Key West, Mexico, Canada, Bahamas and Topsail Island, just to name a few. We've traveled to 20+ states and almost a dozen countries. For our family, a vacation could mean anything from weekend getaways to an amazing 14 day tour of Hawaii and everything in between.

As our kids have gotten older, we've encouraged them to have a voice in our travels, which has made our family time even more special.

Having traveled extensively, I understand what each environment will bring on a trip for your family at all age levels. Driving to Florida to save on airfare? A wrapped present given to your kids as you cross each state line is still remembered 10 years later! Are you looking to relax on your trip? Then I wouldn't recommend Disney World between Christmas and New Year's (speaking from experience lol). Are you adventurous? I would suggest zip-lining through a canopy forest as part of your journey.Traveling to Magic Kingdom with little children? I’ve lived it and  know how important those afternoon naps are to avoid that meltdown (for both parents and kids!).
