Savvy Planning; Special Touches

I do everything I can to make every vacation special, from calling hotels to make sure you get a great room to making dinner reservations and arranging one-of-a-kind experiences. I request value-added amenities and upgrades wherever possible to ensure your trip is amazing. Plus, you can travel stress-free knowing I am there for you throughout your trip to sort out any weather-related flight delays or unexpected bumps along the way.

I will provide you with e-documents, if you like, along with detailed printed itineraries, complete with maps and background information about each hotel, attraction, and restaurant I arrange for you plus additional ideas of things you might enjoy in your free time.

I have personally been to almost every country that you might want to visit and cruised on every major river and ocean cruise line. My favorite memories include hot air ballooning over the Serengeti, enjoying Royal Ascot from the Queen's Box, traveling by train on the Palace on Wheels in India and the Canadian Rocky Mountaineer, and experiencing Tauck tours around the world. I have earned certification from The Travel Institute, Cruise Lines International Association, individual cruise lines and tourism boards around the world.

My first experience in travel planning was for my husband, a renowned cardiovascular surgeon who traveled the world, attending meetings and providing training. I would accompany him, and because no travel agent seemed to understand the complex routings and hotels we needed, I researched and planned everything and then asked our travel agent to book it.

After my husband retired, one of the companies whose board he served on asked me to handle the travel arrangements for the board. That involved negotiating contracted corporate rates with hotel and rentals car companies and determining the best airline routings and rates.

I decided to join a travel agency that would provide access to its systems and buying power. Soon people in the company were asking me to plan their vacations and referring their friends to me. I discovered that I loved planning vacations for other people as much as my own and started attending bridal shows so I could add honeymoon and destination wedding planning to my specialties.

Over the years, Protravel has given me the ability to do things for my clients that they could never get on their own. Plus, my own relationships and the volume I do with many high-end suppliers means that if you want connecting rooms for Easter Week at the Four Seasons on Hawaii’s Big Island, a last-minute reservation at your favorite hotel during Fashion Week in New York City, or hard-to-nab dinner reservations at the Fatted Duck in England, I can almost always make it happen.
