South Africa Adventure

Knysna Elephant Park
Knysna Elephant Park

In 2012 I had the opportunity to go on an Adventures by Disney to South Africa.  I took my son who was 14 at the time.  The memories that we made are PRICELESS.  We stayed at Table Bay Hotel in Capetown.  We took the Aerial Cableway to the top of Table Mountain.  We were above the clouds and the view was amazing!  We saw Penguins in their natural habitat.  Went to Cape Point (Cape of Good Hope) which is where the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean currents meet. We played African drums and danced.  We were chefs for the day and made Koeksisters which is a popular pastry in South Africa.  We took a bike ride to Moyo for a great lunch in a Treehouse and had face paintings.  My son is a big golfer and was able to play 18 holes at Fancourt Golf Club with views of the ocean which was stunning.  We went to Monkeyland and Birds of Eden which was a neat experience with birds flying all around us and monkey's all over as well.  One of the highlights of this Adventure was at Knysna Elephant Park.  My son and I were in the middle of Elephants and were able to feed them.  We also had dinner with a beautiful view of the Elephants and the sunset.  We stayed at a five-star hotel called Kapama Game Reserve. We did sunrise and sunset safaris.  This is out of this world one of the best experiences we have ever had.  We saw lions, giraffes, hippos, rhinoceros, zebras, Cape buffalo, elephants, cheetahs, and so much more.  It was great to see all of these animals in their natural habitats.  To say the least, this was my all-time favorite trip I have ever been on.
