Matterhorn

My family just returned home from an incredible trip to Italy & Switzerland. We choose to do this trip with Adventures by Disney not only because this itinerary appealed to my whole family but also I really wanted to be able to relax and have a hassle free trip. After traveling to Denmark & Norway a few years ago and having all of the logistics of the trip falling on my shoulders, I wanted someone else to take care of the details for me. And I knew after my previous experience with Adventures by Disney to Peru, this trip would be amazing.

I cannot emphasize enough that these trips are so much more than the sights you visit. You truly become immersed in the culture. For example, we had a private "Taste of Italy" in a local wine shop in Stresa. We also had locals in Lucerne come and perform on our last night and teach us how to yodel and play their instruments. Plus, we had an additional local tour guide at 3 different times during our trip.

The guides are what make this product stand above any other tour group. Our guides Miki and Marissa, had boundless energy, incredible knowledge, were very entertaining and just incredible humans! The group itself also is what makes these adventures so special. As Miki, one the guides said, “the itineraries may be the same all season, but the adventures are all different due to the people in each group”.

I am not exaggerating when I say these adventures truly are hassle free. We never waited in line anywhere. All tickets/admissions were taken care of for us. Snacks and water were provided throughout the trip. The guides were our personal photographers so everyone got to be in family photos. When we changed hotels, we left our luggage outside our room and it magically appeared in our next hotel room. We had private transfers almost everywhere. When we did have longer transfers going to Zermatt and Lucerne, we were entertained on the bus with fun historical facts by Miki or games with Marissa. The itinerary looked jam packed on paper but the guides were very organized and the days flowed nicely. There was a nice combination of group activities and on your own time. Honestly, the part that amazed me the most with this trip is that each day it felt like the trip just kept getting better. I think it was a combination of the incredible itinerary and the bonds that were being made between our adventure family!

We came together as 38 strangers and left with so many new friendships. If anyone has any reservations about group travel you should not let this deter you from these adventures. You always have the option of keeping to yourself but the guides have a way of making everyone feel like one big family. This was an incredible trip for my entire family and we made memories that will will treasure forever.
