My family and I have completed 6 road trips around the country. It is a wonderful family experience that we love exposing our children to. When we started doing this, they were 7 and 10 and are now 16 and 13. They roll their eyes at us, but ultimately enjoy it. As someone who is gluten-free, road travel can be a challenge but I manage to find things to eat wherever we go. We ended the summer with a Disney vacation at Walt Disney World.

We primarily stay in Hilton properties and Marriott, as we are diamond and gold members, respectively. This year we were able to book 29 nights of hotels for under $1200 using a combination of points and agent discounts.

On this past trip, we started in Charlotte, our home and traveled throughout the country with stops in Fort Smith, AK, Amarillo, TX, Scottsdale, AZ, Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA, Sacramento, Ca, Seattle, WA, Whistler, BC, Banff, AB, Calgary, AB, Big Sky, MT, Sioux Falls, SD, Minneapolis, MN, Milwaukee, WI, Cleveland, OH and then back home.

We had many amazing experiences on this trip including private tours, attending the Calgary Stampede in a luxury box, stays in a private villa and at the Ritz Carlton Los Angeles and experiencing the beauty of the Canadian Rockies. 

We finished the summer with a visit to Walt Disney World, FL. We stayed at the Contemporary Resort on the club level. This was one of the best experiences we have had at Disney. The service was impeccable!
