Rocky Mountaineer Learning Journey

Our Snack on the Train
Our Snack on the Train

I had the wonderful opportunity in May of 2023 to participate in a Learning Journey with Rocky Mountaineer.  We started out in Calgary and the next day traveled by bus to Banff Canada.  This area of the country is like no other and a must see destination.  We stayed and toured around Banff for two days before heading to the train station to take the Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver with a stop in Kamloops.  While in Banff we saw Sulphur Mountain, Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Hoodoo's and more.  The seconday in Banff we went to Yoho National Park to Emerald Lake and then on the way back stopped at Lake Louise.  Even before going on this trip I had already planned a week trip to Banff with my family in July 2023.  So was able to explore these areas even more in July and in the summer months.  Breathtaking and beautiful don't even began to describe it.

In the morning, we rose early to catch the bus that would take us to the train station for boarding. The hotel provided clear instructions on how to handle our luggage and the designated pick-up time. I highly recommend keeping your valuables with you since the luggage is transported separately and not on the train itself. We were allowed to bring a backpack and purse on board, and although there was no overhead storage, there was plenty of space at our feet. Once on the train, we were greeted by a friendly crew who were our designated servers throughout the journey. They delighted us with stories, pointed out interesting sights, and served us delicious meals and drinks ??! In the Goldleaf service, you are seated on the top level of the train car, with dining facilities located below and a viewing area in between. Dining was organized in shifts to ensure everyone had a chance to enjoy the delectable food and beautifully presented dishes. Between meals, we were treated to delightful snacks, and drinks were available all day from the onboard bar menu. The impeccable service provided by the crew, coupled with the breathtaking scenery passing by, made the train journey an unforgettable experience.

Our time in Vancouver was amazing as well as took a tour of the city stopping at Stanley Park, Granville Island, and Capilano Suspension Bridge.

More details of my experience are in the Rocky Mountaineer Bio.  Would love to plan your next trip on the Rocky Mountaineer or to Canada.
