Inner Stadt

One of the best recent trips in memory has to be when my wife and I visited her father in Vienna and then traveled to Schladming, Munich, and Kehlsteinhaus.   

Starting a trip off in Vienna is not a bad way to begin.  We stayed in Wiednen at the Schick Hotel Rainer, which was fabulous (loved the breakfast buffet and scenery) and spent several days perusing the Inner Stadt where we saw the Hofburg, several Mozart Musuems and the immaculate Volksgarten.

We ate our way through Vienna's amazing culinary scene and ooed and awed at the clean and rich cultural preponderance of what I consider one of the best cities in the world.   It was sad to leave our initial destination, but were lucky to have scheduled a return flight from Vienna so we were able to spend the last 2 days of our trip right back at the same hotel.

The middle of our trip included swerving through mountaintops and stopping at museums near the borders of Germany and Italy.  Schladming, a storied, tucked away, incredible ski town with 9 mountains, did not disappoint.  We stayed 5 nights here and worked in some great skiing, eating the best goulash of our lives, and enjoying good spirits and company along the way.  The videos we took from our skiing part of the trip were memorable and have been passed around to all of our family members.

Seeing Eagles Nest was a huge bucket list item for me so it was nice to see the quaint German towns and beautiful countryside.  I wish I could add more pictures, because this romantic, historical trip was certainly an album worthy onto itself.
