Experience Pura Vida in Costa Rica

The unofficial motto of Costa Rica is Pura Vida. It literally translates to Pure Life. It’s often used as a greeting or farewell, but also describes the way of life in Costa Rica. It reflects the optimism and gratitude of Costa Ricans. And they have so many natural treasures to be grateful for! It’s a fantastic destination for nature and adventure lovers.

We went on a family vacation to Costa Rica in 2018 for almost two weeks and stayed in five different places. I highly recommend a split stay between the beach and an inland area.

The wildlife was a highlight for me, especially the adorable sloths! We also saw monkeys, coatimundi, hummingbirds, scarlet macaws, lizards, leaf cutter ants, and butterflies everywhere. We went on a guided night walk which allowed us to see pit vipers hanging in trees and an armadillo.

The volcanos and hot springs were another highlight. I tried a volcanic mud bath for the first time. The hanging bridges in the jungle are quintessentially Costa Rica. And there are waterfalls and brilliant tropical flowers galore.

Costa Rica offers lots of adventurous activities like river tubing, ziplining, ATVing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and more.

We also had an opportunity to learn about the indigenous culture of Costa Rica.Costa Rica has multitude of resorts; many are small with a focus on being eco-friendly.

I’d love to help you plan a trip to this unforgettable destination.
