Galapagos Islands Expedition Cruise
My family’s vacation to the Galapagos Islands was truly an adventure of a lifetime. It was our first time experiencing an expedition cruise and now I’m hooked and want to introduce this style of traveling to more people.
Our expedition ship carried about 100 passengers which was an ideal size for adventure without giving up luxury. The efficient crew got us off the ship onto dinghy (also known as Zodiac) boats to go snorkeling or hiking twice a day.
The Galápagos Conservancy is dedicated to maintaining the pristine nature of the islands while also ensuring they are open for visitors. So, all tourists are required to be escorted by a certified naturalist guide. These guides play a crucial role in protecting the islands while educating visitors.
The wildlife on the Galapagos Islands is unbeatable! We saw sea lions, iguanas, lots of different types of birds, and giant tortoises. And then there’s the sealife under the surface. I’d always wanted to swim with sea lions and penguins, but I’d never expected to do it at the same time! There were so many sea turtles and starfish. We saw sting rays and my daughter even saw an octopus.
If you love wildlife, I would love to help you plan an expedition cruise to the Galapagos Islands.
