A day trip over to Isla Mujeres
It's no secret, I love Mexico - the food, the people, their culture, just about everything. Last summer, my cousin and I traveled to the area north of Cancun and it's the most gorgeous strand of beach. And in the distance, you can see this tiny speck of an island and that is Isla Mujeres (a.k.a Isle of Women). How does one get from this area to the tiny speck? From the resort, you'll need to take a taxi or transfer company to the ferry. The ferry runs every 30 minutes and takes only about 6 or 7 minutes on the water. Once you are off the ferry, the fun begins. The island is tiny, however the best way to get around is by golf cart. You are at your own leisure, lots of places to stop for beautiful views and things to buy - and I even saw a zipline. Basically, you circle the island at your own pace and thats what makes it so enjoyable. And once you are finished touring, there are many little places to purchase the perfect lunch of tacos for lunch!!
