Oahu Vacations for the Family

Most people traveling to Hawaii make their first stop in Oahu, because Honolulu is home to the major airport in the islands and the “stepping off place” for flights to Hawaii’s other islands.

The island of Oahu is full of attractions, and most tourists spend at least a few days there, unwinding and enjoying the relaxed pace of Hawaiian culture.  There are several attractions that you need to put on your list of “must-do’s.”

  • A tour of the USS Arizona Memorial, commemorating the attack on Pearl Harbor and paying tribute to those who died on that day
  • A hike on the Diamond Head Crater -- the iconic volcano visible from Waikiki.
  • A day at Waikiki Beach enjoying the sunshine and clear water, and strolling along the many shops and restaurants that border the beach
  • Take in the daring surfers at the Banzai Pipeline and view the sunset at nearby Sunset Beach
  • A visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center -- Oahu’s most popular tourist attraction, where you can visit 6 distinct villages representing island cultures, take a hula lessons, and enjoy a luau and breathtaking entertainment Other points of interest are the beautifully restored Palace of  Queen Lilioukalani and the Waikiki Aquarium where you can view Hawaii’s state fish -- the unpronounceable Humuhumunukunukuapuaa!

Once you’ve visited Oahu, you’ll be convinced that you need to return to explore the other islands in this beautiful state.  I can help you do just that!
