Juneau is the state capital of Alaska and is located in the southeast portion of the US. Juneau cannot be reached by road. The only way to get there is by plane, so we visited by ship. We took a plane tour over Tongass and the aerial view is spectacular. Tongass has 17 million acres of huge trees, fjords, waterfalls, steep mountain peaks, wildlife, and glaciers to name a few. The food was phenomenal. We indulged in Alaskan King Crab, Sockeye Salmon, Siberian summer sausage with Caribou, and Halibut taco.Based on the spectacular physical beauty associated with Juneau, the savory food, and the affection bestowed upon us by the locals; Juneau creates a positive memory.
