I had the amazing opportunity of traveling to Zimbabwe with my family to go on safari in Hwange National Park. It was truly the experience of a lifetime. This country was so drastically different from my home state of Colorado! I just ate up every part of my time there. We stayed at a beautiful luxury safari camp where they cooked us the most delicious food, had the most beautiful tented rooms, and the most enjoyable and knowledgeable guides. We went on morning, afternoon, and evening game drives and saw so many types of animals but especially elephants! Hundreds and hundreds of elephants! I am also an aspiring birder and loved all the bright and colorful birds on every game drive. I was able to see a lion and lioness up close as they sat in the shade of a tree. I saw elephants, water buffalo, hippos, antelope, and more come to a watering hole as the sun set and it was like a movie! I can't even describe the bright orange and pink sunsets every single night. We ended our trip with several nights in Victoria Falls. What an unforgettable trip!
