Key Lime Pie Factory Outdoor Garden

In mid-September 2022 we flew to Orlando, rented a convertible mustang, and drove through the glorious Disney World gates! We visited Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot in a quick 3 day adventure! 

This was just the start of our discovery vacation, we drove south all the way to Sanibel/Captiva Island, FL, stopping at a few beaches along the way. 

We stayed at a Resort at the northern end of Captiva Island. We visited the lighthouse, Ding J. Darling nature preserve, Sanibel Island Shell Museum and had some awesome seafood while we were there. While we were there we also drove up to Ft. Myers and had a lovely visit to the Henry Ford and Thomas Edison estate and museum!

We then drove up to St. Petersburg/Clearwater Beach area and at lunch at a beach-side restaurant just before checking out Tampa for one night, and flew home.

When we planned our September 2022 trip to Florida we had no idea it would be the first and last time we saw some of these sights in its current form. A few days after our return, Hurricane Ian decimated Sanibel Island before barreling north through the St. Pete/Tampa area. 

We are so glad that we "seased" the day and visited all these places so that we could see it unaltered. Little did we know we would be ahead of the storm!
